QUOTE Knoppix is a Free and Open Source Live Linux CD based on Debian GNU/Linux. Live Linux CD means that the computer boots and runs completely from cd. Nothing is installed on your hard drive in order for you to experience many of the Open Source software packages available. Knoppix includes recent Linux software and desktop environments, including such applications as OpenOffice.org, Abiword, Gimp, Konqueror, Firefox, Apache, PHP, MySQL and hundreds of other quality open source programs. You can dwoload it free from there website or i think you can buy a dvd. This is perfect for repairing windows and for messing around with school computers, i love playing woth the linux terminal prompt. Heres the website http://www.knoppix.net enjoy Notice from pyost:

Yeah its a great distro which introduced me to the live CD type of linux. that too with the huge set of packages available on the CD itself, it is cool.

I got live cds of this and Ubuntu, and while neither worked on my resolution, I think KDE was worse than Gnome.
