Hi, I want to create a game like mybrute.com. I know it's not going to be easy. I just want to learn how it's done. The languages used and coding behind it. I can use some basic animations and graphics at the beginning and then find someone else to do higher quality.

Basically if you haven't seen it. it's a browser based game where you get a 'brute' or a character. You fight other players gain exp, levels, weapons, animals, skillpoints. But it's not a text based game. The fights are actually shown. Made in flash I believe but currently you have no control over the fight. You just click fight and watch. Recently I got interested in creating a similar game and started learning PHP, mysql. I have some html and css knowledge.. but as It's not an ordinary browser based game nor it's a 3d MMO I am not sure what exactly should I be learning to be able to do this. I want to create a similar game to mybrute.com but to add more functionality like being able to buy the weapons and animals and manually assign skillpoints and being able to take part in the fight and affect the outcome by what you do. Like for example what weapon you choose to use. So it would be great if you point me in the right direction. I believe I will need to learn flash actionscript, php, mysql and animating in flash right? So any good tutorials and resources and advice would be appreciated! Thanks.
