http://www.openoffice.org/ - Open Office Software.. Good to replace current exp office 2003 and such.

http://download.mozilla.org/?product=firef...=win&lang=en-US - Mozillia Internet Brower which is good to avoid more unnessceary spyware from active X and more safe from some verunalitbies.

www.skype.com - Free Internet voice to voice application. It uses the peer to peer application and is quality was not bad comparing that is com to com.

http://www.grisoft.com/ - AVG antivirus software good is u are temporary need to replace some of the commerical ones out there..

SmartFTP - the best ftp program I've ever used

Picasa2 - Really user friendly photo organizer/graphic editer. Made by Google - kinda scary how much they're doing lately.

I would aslo say a bit torrent client, but they're all free, and just as good anyway

SmartBar XP www.smartbarxp.com - Some kind of extended taskbar, takes a lot of systemresources but is quite nice.

Bit Comet - www.bitcomet.com - Bit Torrent file transfer program. Is fast and reliable

Free programs
Comet Cursor Full of whacky and fun cursors cursors. Comes with an adzapper and toolbar.

Ad-aware SE Personal - Half-free half not, but its reliable. I got saved by it dozens of times

The Freesite - Plenty of free ctuff to download and use.

Gamemaker - Nice program but hard to understand at the beginning (Go to download.com and type gamemaker on the searchbar. The first result should be the right one =))

Free Games
Tibia, Runescape, Maplestory, Ragnarok (If you use private server. Try going to gamesites200.com for more private servers)

Audacity - awsum free audio editor and can also record sound played through ur sound card

he is right. its one of the most common spyware programs. i used to have it, and it messed mine up. i had it on my old computer, i didnt remove it because it was going to hell anyway. its not as great as others seem to say, after awhile it gets boring.

The first place I go for nearly anything I need is Nonags It has been my favorite place to hunt for freeware for years! I can usually find any kind of tool I need for free that I would normally have to pay for.

Some of the best things I've found there are:

Audiograbber - A comprehensive mp3 ripper and organizer

Maxthon - multi-tabbed browser with tons of extras (was MyIE)

Eraser - Don't just delete, Erase! Have it clean your drive after a defrag and see how much space you find.

Keynote - note organizer
