Replacing Captcha By A Game | ||

Did you often have problems reading a CAPTCHA?
What about replacing it by a game ? A company proposes replacing CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing test to Take Computers and Humans Apart) by a game.
A computer will not put a shoe in a refrigerator or will not put a car on a human face.

Quite nice, but I think it might be annoying after some time? Imagine we would need to play that game every time we post a topic 
I saw some nice javascript implementations of captcha alternatives, but those kind of things require you to have javascript enabled and/or flash, what about users who use noscript or etc.? Even it's a small percentage, but they're still are users, even though, it's their fault they don't use javascript and don't want to enable it.

I agree that those traditional captcha some times is really annoying, that you a human, sometimes can't even guess or see what you need to write.

While it might be more secure, and while I absolutely HATE CAPTCHA, I think I would tire of the game and find it even more annoying then the annoyance already implemented. I definetly think that there has to be a better option out there then the current CAPTCHA due to the fact that at least half the time I can't tell what I'm supposed to type so I fail it and have to start all over again.

Depending on the account type and what information it holds... game captcha would be a pain for sure...

There are some websites out there that use CAPTCHAs that ask people to click on cat photos. I'm not sure if it's from another service, but Microsoft is working on something like that, where you click cat photos out of a small array of cat and dog photos.

seems like a good way of countering spams... quite handy when posting, if poster clicks on wrong pic the user is delayed from re-posting for a couple or so minutes and when images reloaded it will re-shuffle through its collection of images and reload a new set

I wouldn't say that it has failed badly. There was a step with human detection, then a python bot was able to do the job, then a further version of the game will beat the bot.
