hi,

have members always been able to edit their own posts? or is this new? if it's old, I'm going insane, if not, great job admins!

and can members close their own topics? or is this a junior mod permission?

thanks,

IF.

OK, the closing of topics is kinda redundant to ask. You were a member 3 days ago, could you close your own topics? Normally no, can you now? Yes. So yes it is a part of the member mask. ANd yes I believe members can edit their own posts, though I am not sure.

Do you mean junior mod mask rather than member mask? and I don't think you could edit your own posts when I was a member, so that indicates to me that it's new, so closing your own topic could be new too.

No I belive we already had trouble with edit, something to do with the credits system, but I believe it was fixed and is now working.

Closing topics, is a junoir mod function.

I can only close topics I start. Is that right? Is that how it's supposed to be?

Well trekkie, even the junior mod mask is causing issues for the credits system, since it also holds the member groups etc (hence creating a hosting account changes the member group) and junior mod is not included in the credits system. So that was a less pleasing aspect OpaQue told me about last night.

I am still earning credits for posting btw, just to let you know.

yes you are and you still must abide by the TOS so 1 liners should be very rarely used which I have seen on more than 1 occasion since you have become a Junior Mod

I earn credits when I post and I am not even hosted here.

Okay, I made short posts, but I've also made longer posts, so I feel it's okay. And there's not really a lot else to put here, so... it's probably a one-liner.

edit IF: actually, I was told it didn't matter about short posts in the staff forum, so I didn't really need to explain the shortness of this post, but it's done now.

uh ...... ok here is the deal maybe i can explain it to you.

1. Your NEW
2. Your In Training
3. Your on a trial basis
4. Your one liners were not in all in the staff forum.
4.a. Don't delete your posts if someone has replied to you.
5. Don't question every little thing someone says.
6. We are trying to help by giving you constructive critiscim.
7. Don't abuse the report button if you have doubts about closing, editing a topic or post.
8. NEVER override another Mod whether your a Junior Mod or Super Mod. (Always speak with the mod first)
9. If you warn never delete or edit the post (that way we can have proof)
10. Be courteous, friendly, helpful
11. Unless warrented then you need to be strict
12. Don't ask for more power until you can master what you have already.

more to come later hope this helps.

Okay, thanks, this will help. I'm not entirely sure what I all did, it was late :) but I'll bear this in mind, the problem is I can't actually do anyting without reporting, I don't know if you know that, I can't actually do anything except close my own topics. Is that causing some confusion?
