Our newest member (as of my writing this) is homosaregayy. I was wondering if this nick is appropriate, if it isn't what do we about it and future cases of inappropriate nicks, and where do we draw the line on appropriate usernames.

Also, I have recently seen a lot of advertising in signatures and the like for competition web hosting. did we ever come to a consensus on what to do in situations where people advertise competition?

I didn't notice what the nick is saying until I've read it over a few times. It isn't very noticable. But, it might be offensive to the people who are sensitive about that. I don't know how we can moderate all user names if there are new nicks registered every day.

We can't change nicknames I think (or can we edit members?)
And I feel that name is inappropriate. It has nothing to do with who might find it offensive. Personally I do find it offensive, but then again I am also one that is very sensitive about stuff :D

About the advertising of not allowed things in signatures, edit them out.

Thanks for the speedy response, I found it offensive, which is why I reported it. I think we will need to et Admins know because only they would have the power to modify nicknames. Does astahost have a prebuilt post editor to remove words like f*** and s***, because if so, perhaps the same thing could be implemented in usernames.

I don’t think this user plans to stay. I think it’s a trial to see what response he or she will get.

I think this person has other plans intended.

You're probably right there Rudy...

You should have seen the flames I got over my name in a few places (I used to have - or still have, I don't know) a paid nickname MoonWitch on Paltalk (same chat thing) I got bounced (the kick thing) or banned from rooms on there for the name alone :D

Oh well... It all depends what you do and say I suppose, but it won't be the first user and certainly not the last one with a name like that. I mean, I've been a bonerbaggins on IPBgaming, which yeah was changed to justbaggins...

Been or seen, moonwitch? On an ipbgaming note, was the system messed up, because I need to reregister, my username doesn't exist anymore, and I was wondering if I could have admin again.

But to the situation at hand, should we let the admins know about this. And other than OpaQue occasionally, has anyone seen an admin recently?
