I was browing through forum posts and I came accross a few recently about other free hosting companies....

I checked it out and found this : Fixed link Competition

They offer very similar hosting as we do...But then they offer a lot mroe upgrades then us.

When I come accross free hosting ads for other sites should I delete the post...Or if the whole thread talks about it delete the whole thread...Or give them permission to say w.e they want.

I dunno...Had me a little concerned...Espicialy since they have a lot more flashy colors...And that's what a lot of new ppl go for when they are looking for sweet hosting.

Damn...Ah well...Post your commments...

Holy free web host! I might even consider switching to there!!! :) Just kidding... Their last package has unlimited everything... But that is with 575 posts... This is going to be hard to compete with...

It'd be best to let our users simply see the truth. If they stay even if they saw that host, they are worthy to be hosted here. Let them make the choice.

Meh, I don't think anybody there would even want unlimited...I mean common...That is a lot of space...Meh their servers are pretty slow.

I think they are just ripping off astahost. The basterds!

I don't know what hosting you guys are talking about because the link is broken, but I say let them talk. We can always point out how they are probaby being duped, and if they want to be duped, let them.

Thanks for fixing the link, and after looking at the site, I still say them them talk about it. The only real concern we should have is people leaving computinghost for other hosters, but that is why they have come to astahost in the first place. If they leave astahost, it may detract from the community a bit (but if they are only here for the hosting, they won't add as much as others, and if they are here for the community they will continue here anyway) but what we lose in one member we make up for by ease of resources for astahost.

I dont have any objections for any member who leaves AStahost or Trap17 for such hosts. No problem at all. But If you see the list of hosting applications, I recently included "previous host" field. You will see many of those host names. I think you guys are smart enough to realise why people leave others and join us.

And not to mention, We also have an Admin of another free host who has joined us. Anyone who have read his application will understand.

Quality matters. And when someone Oversells.. Its shows.

That's Great, I just wonder who it is?

But I still say let them talk, if they move, alot of them will come back to us anyway..

The old saying “All that glitter is not gold” was composed by someone who had common sense. We who may have a little know-how know that it takes a lot of bandwidth to accommodate a lot of the resources provided with hosting.

Services like these are owned by business minded people who only see profits. The site is not their number one concern it’s something else. When that person reaches their gold or fail at it the site will die. Trust me!
