Where?
update.mozilla.org/ or extensionroom.mozdev.org/ or extensions.roachfiend.com.
Or try a google search.
How?
update.mozilla.org is automaticly on your allow list for installing software. To add a site to your allow list, click on tools/options/web features/allowed sites. Allow whichever site that you want to allow to this list. NOTE: Never allow a questionable site to install software on your computer.
Extensions to get
The extensions that I would highly reccommend would be the following:
Adblock
YOU MUST GET THIS EXTENSION. This extension allows you to delete any image or java or flash application that you do not like. You will never see these items again. You can also set filters, such as */ads/* or */banners/*. Adblock download
bugmenot
Ever get sick of having to register (for free) to a site to access some of it's features? Examples of this can be seen in newyorktimes.com. Bugmenot allows you to right click in a form and select "Bugmenot" to search the bugmenot database for a user who has decided share his screenname and password with the public. Bugmenot download
StumbleUpon
After you have been on the internet for a while, it may get boring. You may think that there aren't any cool sites left out there. Well you are WRONG. Fill out a quick form that asks you what you like, and click stumble and you are sure to find a cool site! Stumbleupon download

I happen to be a devout Firefox user, and ever since I've gotten it I have needed to use extensions to make my browsing experience better.Hey, thanks for the great info. I've not really noticed that I needed to add any extensions to the software, but I did have one time that I needed to add a plugin to firefox. That is totally different from IE, where I was installing a plugin about every day. It got boring and maddening to say the least.

When you find and extension, it's have a extension .xpi, right click and download to your pc. (personally i recomend too http://www.extensionsmirror.nl)
ok, when you want to install the extension:
1) open firefox
2) Goto Tools Menu / Extensions
3) Drag the .xpi file to the extension windows
4) Click on Install and you have to restart firefox
That's, when you for example reinstall firefox, just find your favorites extensions and reintall it

I'm off to download this one immediately. I hate registering for sites with an account I'll never use again. Things like this is why FireFox is the best browser out there .. they truly take the cake with so many of their features. Go FF!

It significantly speeds up firefox and tweaks the performance of it too. It does work because I have compared regular firefox with all the same features as firefox without fasterfox on one computer, and firefox that is exactly the same as the other one except for the fact that it had fasterfox on it. I tested them both with the same internet, and i tried about 4 tests because i had to switch some variables around, and my results proved the same thing on all the tests. The fasterfox extension makes firefox significantly faster, and the internet connection last longer, and connect better even though it doesn't seem possible to make the internet connection connect better, fasterfox does it. It is a very good extension. I dont use firefox without it.
