Some good stuff, most of the programs I do recognize in form or another so its should be some good stuff to use instead of dropping $500+ dollars for the same program.

once it loads ill see if my favourite open source program ever is on there!

nup, doesnt have it on there. so as number 1 best open source program ever is... Paint.NET!!! it replaced photoshop for me! i havent used photoshop for months, paint.net is way better and free. although you do need the microsoft .net framework to use it.

i have quite a few programs that were in that list.

A lot of good freeware, i'm not pretty sure but a time ago i saw almost the same list of programs in another website i think that at the pc magazine website.

I dont think that freewares are opensource. opensource gives out the code unlike the freeware counterpart with all the licensing envolve. To know the best open source programs go to www.osalt.com to find alternatives for those programs that are damn expensive and too proprietary.

That's correct, they are not equal but in lots of cases they are ;). Relating to the osalt website, well only to say THANKS, i loose this url some time ago and never forget to search it again, it has a lot of cool stuff.

Come to think about it, the only place where I always find those open source alternatives are only from http://sourceforge.net/. However, comparing the reviews of those open source software from both sites, osalt website seems more comprehensive. But of course there's much more projects in sourceforge.com. Anyway thanks for the site. Cheers. ;)
