lots of mods
a lot of skins
popularity
functionality
ease of use
free

Cons-
security

IPB:
Pros-
a lot of skins
security

Cons-
not free
hard to navigate

I like phpBB2 myself

invision board is free if you use the trial version. i'm not really sure why but i like Invision Board better, because you can get stuff such as IBShop/IBStore for it.

well, what i think is any forum is good if it does what you want it to do and has the features you need

PhpBB is a better forum for customising, it have a nice design, and you can easyly find some themes.

Invision Board is better for a bisness forum, it is better protected from hackers and errors.

At my point IPB is more steady than PHPBB

Yeah I agree that phpBB can be easily customized than IPB. You can edit the theme unitl it looks so different from the original style

yes, phpBB can be easily customized than IPB
and ipb is a more steady system, but ipb is not a real free forum

im trying to install phpBB2 but my current host dont got perl i think or its not mapped propperly

also we can find many skins and thames from internet
and now ipb have more and more developers, it have more than 5 language versions now

Astahost uses IPB and a portal setup can be achieved as you all can see here, but I'm not sure if phpBB allows you to set up this portal thing too.

I'm using IPB to, and Yauws's portal. I just like the fact that you can easy upgrade your site with another skin almost fully automatic. There are more options to I think with IPB.

well i think invasion power board r easy to customize then Php well will find that out when i get space here.

i setup a Invision Power Board on the astahosting now.
i think invasion power board is not easy to customize as phpbb.
i like ipb all the same, it looks beautiful

PHPBB2 for me. there are lots of little itsy details i can control and it's easy to use.
