I first found this baby looking up tabs a few years ago, but i ended up using it to actually make music, experiment with beats before i found other bro's to play music with. The software is called Guitar Pro. GP not only is a playform for reading tabs made by others, but you can, with only a computer keyboard and a guitar for reference make your own music.
You dont literally play into the program, but you input the note locations, basically make your own tab, and it follows the tab. It even has a bass and drum set to go behind your music. Even playing in a band i stilluse it to mess around with different beats. If your new to guitar id reccomend it, just find a guitar pro tab you like to a song you think your up to, and once you load it its just about the easiest thing to understand.
Cheers
