Get an extra email address.
Now get an extra email address like stunt.racer@yahoo.com or poetry.stud@yahoo.com or whatever.youwant@yahoo.com. It´s absolutely free. Use it just as you would for your primary address (which of course you can still use). To make things handy, you can send and receive email from either address from the same inbox. But hurry, the good names are going fast!

It never occurred to me that Yahoo! Mail did not until now support the "dot" in the username section of the address. I wonder why they didn't do this sooner? Oh, who cares - at least now people can try to get new usernames that aren't completely whacked out (i.e. with twenty digits after the letters).

I agree. The dot really looks way much better than underscrolls really. I think underscrolls look just horrible while dots actually separate 2 different words apart. So far, I've never heard of anyone who actually put their "passion" after they're usernames and the dot. My aunt has a company email address and she used this format:
firstname.lastname@companyname.com
Which is basically what everyone else uses. Anyone that i know that is.

hey.. this should be interesting. I really must give it a shot and see if it works out... sure would do good to hava an extra mailing address with my given name to keep as a standby.

I'm going nuts trying to get into my extra/yahoo mail. It keeps telling me my information is incorrect - that my birth date and father's middle names are wrong. I think I'm the best of judge of that!!!! If I can't get help soon, I'm going to change my email carrier.
