While reading this discussion, I decided to take a look at the Misc. Requests forum. Now, everywhere it states that Astahost offers SSH, but I noticed that users have been told the opposite when asking for it. On the other hand, you can see people getting SSH in some older topics. So, what's with that?

And another minor problem that I noticed is "3 Web Based E-Mail Programs" on the home page - there are only two programs

The main index pages of both AstaHost and Trap17 shows many outdated or typos that are not current with today's hosting package.

I have been trying to bring this attention to OpaQue with much fail... sorry OpaQue, I call it like as is

SSH is no longer part of Free Web Hosting, No Ads packages. Only 2 web based e-mail programs are offered.

As for why having outdated or typos in our main index page? It's still a mystery...

One of the reasons that there is incorrect information on the site index is because it is done in Flash and it requires more than just editing some HTML to fix. Since most of it is flash, at the very least, new images have to be created with the correct text on them. It is one of those things where to fix this little issue here is a three day project and all of a sudden, the whole thing needs updated and it is a month long project!

OpaQue knows that a lot of people would jump right in if he requested some help in keeping things updated!

Only the top banner is in flash. The rest of AstaHost description are in regular HTML. But the page was not designed by OpaQue himself, initially, but by hired designers. (Trap17 main page is actually found under some web designer's profile)

Perhaps the combination of outdated information, specs offered in the past but no longer offered since the change from 4 plans to 2 plans, etc could be the reason...

But I gather that is the least of our worries at the moment. Getting the process page to 100% and fixing the ACP would be in order. And then, OpaQue has to worry about upgrading to IPB2.2
