1-Security is depend on many parameters in per network, and only operating system can't to meet to cover the security.
For example : a few years ago a company employed number of peoples to search in the papers and rubbishes of Microsoft and find Codes of Microsoft, and found important information .
Then we can see that the security of a network is depend of many factors that we may don't care about those.
Windows and Linux have weaknesses in security, but because of many users of Windows, naturally the weaknesses of Windows is discoverable from them.
2- User Friendly:
Every body know that Windows is easier than Linux for ordinary and amateur users.
By few years a go the users of Linux had to compile Kernel of Linux. Of course recently, latest version of Linux is better than older version of Linux.
Linux most understand that ordinary and amateur users don't have any interest to compile programs or type commands. They prefer to easily click on the setup.exe in Windows.
Of course, Linux is Open Source, and can help professional programmers and is good tool for them. Linux is an enemy for amateur users and a strong friend for professional users.
Although, may be Linux Os of servers, but can't be a friendly Os for ordinary users.
3- Application:
Linux have extra capability in networks. For example if you want to limit the Bandwidth of users Linux will resolve this, but Windows can't.

For troop007-admin : You can burn ISO files simply with Nero. You just have to select where your image is and then click burn. Then you have your cd.

Windows- I'm more used to the GUI i've used since Windows 95. It's easy to use and clutter free compared to Linux's taskbar.
People say Linux is much more secure than Microsoft. The fact is that Windows has twice as less holes than Linux. The only reason why M$'s Windows is attacked often is because 95% of the ppl use it. Linux is full of holes.
And of course its basically the industry's main operating system. Nearly everyone uses some sort of Windows. Of course, it gets different for servers and workstations which seemed to be geared more towards Apple and Linux/Unix.
