i have just heard that the final version of msn 7.0 has been released, well been leaked onto the internet before it was released. is this really true?

looks like they finally finished making the version problem less... anyone got this final version? i would guess it is hosted on them warez websites.. anything different from the beta version. and isit really stable?

well im not bothered to search for any links for the leaked software. i just wait for the version to be released on the microsoft msn website.

so what do you think of msn 7 now?

It would be quite awesome if it really has been finally released. I adore the beta version (namely because of the handwriting capabilities), so if you do find a trustworthy download link please let us know. That would be super =D

And I'm still using 6.2. Beta7 doesn't seem to work on my "fabulous" computer. ARGH!!!!

Has MSN Messenger 7.0 come out yet? I only know that its on beta, its not really reliable at the moment, and would rather stick with the older version which is version 6.2 until 7.0 has come out and is fully stable, I heard it has much more features too!

yeah its out, ive been using the beta, it was pretty stable although had major trouble with saving logs, I hope they have fixed that, I know they were working on it but it was VERY annoying always having that popup, also the advert at the bottom is badly scrpted and complains.

I don't use MSN much anymore. Even though Gmail doesn't provide an instant messenger service, I still like it enough to abadon hotmail.

MSNM would be at the mercy of any instand messaging service google were to bring out, Hotmail lost many users to GMail in days, Google hold the peoples trust on the internet

It must not be a very consistant problem then... I've been using the BETA since it's release and have not had any problems what so ever. It has been completely 100% stable and logs are saved perfectly. I love the way it shows your previous conversation in the message window when you chat to a friend.

Well now seeing as the final version is out I'll have to have a look at it. Although I am happy with this version, the final product is always going to be better than a BETA. Thanks for the links =)

Enjoy.
Also get MsgPlus (www.msgplus.net). Awesome plugin, you can even check your pop3 mail (including gmail) as you would with your regular hotmail adress :-o

In my opinion MSN Messenger has always been the best messenger service out there. Other chat clients like ICQ, Yahoo! Messenger, and AIM just don't compare... never have and never will I don't think. The other clients just seem to be so far behind, I'd say they're about par with MSN Messenger 1.0 LoL. Maybe not quite, but MSN just seems to have so many features not available on the other clients... and it's so much easier and more enjoyable to use.

I heard from my friend that she could not recieve any files from anyone ever since she got msn messenger version 7.0, I think its rather wierd... She says that it keeps appearing as "The file that your contact has sent you may contain a virus and is declined for your safety" or something like that...
Anyone know anything about this?

From what I know, MSN is blocking a number of file extensions to try to stop the spread of messenger viruses that have been causing trouble recently. Any files with the following extensions will be blocked:

.ade .adp .app .asp .bas .bat .cer .chm .cmd .com .cpl
.crt .csh .exe .fxp .hlp .hta .inf .ins .isp .its .js .jse .ksh .lnk
.mad .maf .mag .mam .maq .mar .mas .mat .mau .mav
.maw .mda .mdb .mde .mdt .mdw .mdz .msc .msi .msp .mst
.ops .pcd .pif .prf .prg .pst .reg .scf .scr .sct .shb .shs .tmp
.url .vb .vbe .vbs .vsd .vsmacros .vss .vst .vsw .ws .wsc .wsf .wsh

However, I think you can still send files with these extensions if you put them in a zip file. If your friend was trying to send other types of files though, then I have no idea what's wrong.

The best place to go to find out what's going on with MSN messenger is Mess.be. That's where I get all my information about messenger, and they're quite reliable as well as being extremely fast to post updates and new information.

I love the new features on MSN 7 like the draw tool. I think its so much better then AIM. I dont know why mroe people dont use it.

   Mon May 30, 2005    Reply

AIM also sucks because when you IM someone, if they are typing to someone else, they start typing to you cause your chat window forces its way in there. AIM has such a hard look to it as well... MSN is so streamlined. And just so everyone knows, you can always register your GMail as a .NET passport and use it for a MSNM handle. And with Messenger Plus! you can configure a mail checker. MSN really is ahead of the game :D Somehow I had the draw tool way back in MSN 7.0 beta LOL. I would draw things to my friends and they'd be like, hey, how'd you do that. And I was trying to explain, but they just couldn't find it LOL. Gratz Microsoft on your best product ever :D
