This guys post is a one-liner but the signature image size is over 10 times the size of his post.. lol.. Do you guys think we should enforce signature images to be within a particular height x width ? Most of the ones around Whatpulse size are pretty ok and load fast enough - but ths image alone is 11K (320x240px). Imagine what a whole lot of these would do to page load time... My feeling is to restrict it around the whatpulse region - maybe a couple of 50-100px more heightwise. What do you guys say ?

I agree with the programming split (did you see my topic?). I also agree that we should have a maximum size for images, but how about we state a maximum KB size and state that your posts should take up more space than your signature. Or state a maximum size in pixels but still say your posts should be longer than your signature. And here's an idea, how about a specialized search for mods that only finds posts of one or two lines?

Well, I have a fairly big signature file myself, but I can easily take it off... Of course that would decrease the shock value of people seeing my ugly mug... and most thinking my sister there is my daughter

I think a maximum filesize combined with px would be good. For example a signature image can not be bigger than 400x120px and 50KB... it's just a suggestion of course.

Can't imagine where you got that image size moon . So yeah, I stil like the idea of posts being bigger than images ('that's why I don't have a problem with your image moon), but moon's idea is good. (When I think about my idea, I realize it needs modifications, for example, some posts to make them long would stretch them yet they are useful posts, I will think on the matter and return).

Thanks to a helpful link posted by moonwitch, I just reread the Board rules. We already have a maximum image size for signatures. It is 590 wide x 125 high, and I think we should enforce this strictly.

I always felt that just having an avatar is enough. But that my opinion. I have never created more that an avatar on any board I become a member of for the same reason.
