windborn, a moderator from hiya-host.us complained about one of our hosted members (lloydkirk1989) which would not be good for astahost nor hiya-host.

Maybe we should look into rectifying these situations, I noticed that a post he pointed out on astahost was also a thread that he started, and he felt like he was mascotting astahost, in a more realistic view, he's giving there host a bad name and our host, I surely wouldn't want all our members to go over to some other host and spread things about them nor would I want other host's members come over here and do the same.

We've got to do something about this, I'm against the suspending, but a word to our member, and maybe an announcement about the current situation that's going and and that we would like our members to not insult other hosts?

We should also point out that posting at other host's sites just to bad mouth them and advertise us, surely isn't a good move, I would surely not stand up for another member thinking that our host is better than theres, I believe other hosts also encounter problems, it's expected.


So how to rectify?

Warn lloydkirk1989 not to bother with them and ignore them full out.
Tell windborn, (is he the one buggin NilsC?) to contact his admins and have them enforce there own rules on there own board.

Hmmm... when you look at it from this angle, it's an entirely different story. On the other hand I'm not against free speech - but maybe we should tone the messages down or try telling him to come up with some sort of constructive criticism and not simply hurl insults..

I am not against free speech either, BUT this place is whether we like it or not a company, business. And in this line of business advertisement, reviews and opinion do matter a lot to us. Bad reviews tend to spread faster than good ones, that's life.

Personally I would remove or at least seriously censor the posts about hiya-host. Even if it's just to keep em happy somewhat. Also I would check their boards to see what's posted there about us, and how lloyddkirk (I can not spell that name right LOL) insulted them. Agreed, what happens on other boards may not be our business, but it involves astahost.

Also we should talk to this member, warning I would not do yet. Yet being a keyword here, I mean, we do need to keep a very close eye on the situation. If he posts insults addressed to hiya-host again, then we can warn. I think constructive criticism can't hurt, however insult serve no purpose other then aggrivating the insulted party.

Anyhow, my point is... we should watch out for this, not only from the member in this situation, but also others. We don't wanna get lawsuits poured over our dear OpaQue... I am not saying this is what will happen, it's more of a worst worse case scenario.
