Well, I'm interested on setting up a Jabber network, but I don't have any extra hardware laying around to set it up at home. I was wondering if there are free servers that let me make Jabber available to the world.

What is it that you intend to acomplish with this? Do you want to set up Jabber for a personal intranet or will prospective users be connected thru the Internet?

If it's public servers you're looking for, I'd suggest you look at this page on the official Jabber project site - http://www.jabber.org/network/
