Good evening, i have heard at the 'site review' part of the forum that my site url="http://www.ikbenmooi.be"]www.ikbenmooi.be[/url would be better if i made just one red box, and place my links to the other pages on my site at the top. So, i tought, maybe i could make a header, in flash orso? Does someone know a good program and/or tutorial to learn how to make one?
Thanks,
Michiel

it can be done easily if you get the right program to do it for you. i dont think you want spend a lot of money on the flash mx program. there is a cheap one called flash fxp. do a google search for it. its supposed to be very good an easy to use. and just for the heck of it if you want to also make a flash navigation menu. there is a program called flash menu 1.3.2.
hope this helps.

flash programs aren't that hard to find...if you don't want to like pay for it, i'm sure there are free/cheap ones out there...but i think swishmax is a really good flash animation software..if that's what your looking for??? flash is really cool, but it does take a little time to load...put more colors on your site!

At first I was going to recommend you the Flash 8 program but if you want to go cheap I think there are some around there. But when I looked at your site it looks like a full flash website would be good for your site. It doesn't have a lot of content so a small flash site would be a good makeover. If you don't want to pay for it just download the trial. You can make a site in under 30 days wth that much content.

FlashFXP is a FTP program. And a good one too
.
I agree with the last poster. Download a trial of latest Macromedia Flash and read some on the web. You should be able to work it out if you put some work into it.

I'll make this short but sweet.
I would put more, but on my soon to come tutorial, I will have covered most of the design aspect hints and tips.
For your development, I guess you used Dreamweaver. It is good to see that you have used DIV layout, but your code is clutterd. I suggest you learn CSS and XHTML to combine your skills.
To start learning CSS, I suggest you go to the following address:
http://www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp
I also suggest you go to CSS ZEN GARDEN (http://www.csszengarden.com) and read it all fully (including Mezo Blue).
Hope it helps,

- Try having a light background, with dark text and sans-serif font. It helps the eyes to focuse better on the content, rather on the surroundings. Also stops people like me from having outrageous migraines

- Use a colour scheme that holds some relevance to you as a person, but don't include incessive reds or dark tones. A lighter and more controlled colour pallette is an effective way of doing up your site. Just make sure that the colours are complimentary, and not opposite.
- The best font set to use is Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif 11px, #000000. It is a good little set, that most sites utilize to good effect. I suggest you take it on board.
- Your menu clearly does not need to be in individual images. A simple CSS-based designed menu would be more efficient and you could even add CSS rollover styles, you find hundreds of beginner tutorials splattered across this site and billions out there that are indexed on Google.
- Try not to use fonts that are not user-specific (e.g. Bradley Hand ITC).
- Never centre align main content. When working with bodies of text, set them to justified, that way it flows flawlessly onto the next lines, looks more professional and again is easier on the eyes and helps the brain process information faster.
