Does this qualify as a tutorial? It looks kinda not useful to me or anyone around here and it doesn't seem like he put some effort in it. But since it's visible this means that someone approved it doesn't it?

Btw. is that thing with tutorials_wont_be_visible_untill_approved thingy still around?

Yup - that inviso thing is still around but much of it gets approved anyway.. it's become a lot easier than before.

Also another thing that I wanted to implement but needed a common concencus on - I think we should put a word limit (or minimum word limit) on posts intended for the tutorials section. I say, 500 words or it doesn't qualify.. as in this case.. am going to move it to Windows, as it's more of a Tips & Tricks kind of thing rather than being a full-blown tutorial.)

What say you guys ? 500 words minimum to qualify as a proper tutorial ?

Yes, I think 500 words should be good. It takes up my whole screen with Firefox, which I think is long enough for a decent tutorial. I don't think we should block tutorials under 500 words automatically. We should check to see if the tutorial is acceptable ourselves, since there can sometimes be great tutorials in less words. But we can put an auto-block on tutorials that have fewer than maybe 150 words.

Sounds good to me too. Of course, at the current moment, I am working ona tut that is only part 1 of a long series of tuts that is already over 700 words excluding code blocks and the table of contents, and is not even close to halfway complete. So a minimum is not really going to affect me.

Good lord, man, what tutorial are you working on there - The Story of Life - :)?

No, seriously, kudos if you do it and more power to you, 'cause... damn.

It's the first part of an series of tutorials on assembly. And the worst part is, it's all intro stuff, so no actual coding until tut 2.

I think that is a great Idea M^E. I really don't feel that this is a tutorial, as it should go step by step on how to use it, and if it doesn't work, what might be done about it.

I think that it is really too short to be a tutorial. I posted a response back when, trying to find it, but it was a really good one to look at as a tutorial....
