I have create a script that open a connection on a irc server like a BnC; when i test it on my local machine it's all ok, but here i receive every time Timed_out, and i don't know why, Someone can me explaine why? :)

I think it is not allowed to use IRC scripts of any kind here. fsockopen() is probably banned in php settings.

I have seen here fsockopen() isn't banned and it works if a try to connect to a standard 80 port to do gte..but with Irc port no, AstaHost has stopped the connection to them?

well, as far as i remember, irc bots & servers are forbidden. i dunno about clients. but i think it's quite probable they blocked some other ports. fsockopen works though.

hey, don't give up. i'm not sure and i can't find where i read it anymore. so maybe it was another host.
what you should/could do is send a service request. you can do this from your cpanel.

search the page for irc. you'll find that irc services are not allowed.
