| I just update ffdshow and xvid codec a few days ago. And I found that Windows Movie Maker will be closed automatically when I edit WMV file with it. it did not show any error messages. But it works fine after I uninstalled those codec. what's the problem with ffdshow and xvid?? are they not compatible with Windows Movie Maker?? |

I downloaded Vista Codec Pack and now my WMM stops decoding and gives me the message: Cannot Create the DVD One or more of the files that were added in DVD Maker could not be decoded correctly. Verify that you have decoding software installed on your computer that can decode the different files, and then try again. When my WMM is running, Haali Media Splitter and FFDShow Video Decoder go nuts throwing up multiple icons on my bottom menu bar. Please help! i had before i formatted the computer windows media player 11 that i could open quick time movies on
it (.mov), but now it can't play .mov videos; i searched for packs, but i didn't find any.
can anybody help me.....

I have a problem with my windows media player. It plays all videos in full screen mode. The media
player does not show any menu bars etc when it starts playing video. hence I cannot reduce the size.
I have tried pressing Alt + enter looking through options like video size, zoom etc, but to no luck.
Even try uninstalling and reloading different version but in all case the problem persists. I have
used ver. 9, 10 11 (beta). All versions are giving problems. Any help is appreciated. ....

How can I convert an avi file encoded with RM codecs (real media) to a DivX avi file ? I would like
to be able to read it on a stand-alone avi reader. Virtualdub says "cannot determine file type" and
Imtoo rm converter simply freezes, using no cpu and no disk.....

Has anyone here tried Windows Media Player 11 Beta? It sounds quite good and i'm in the process
of downloading it at the moment but it's just a bit over 20 megabites so it might take a while.
Anyone got any feedback on it? Is it good? Better than the previous versions? I've been using
RealPlayer for a while but I'm thinking i'll just try out this version and if it's any
good I may switch back... I'll see how it goes!....

Divx player plays almost all types of movie files including .avi. It plays them much better than a
normal player like winamp, or windows media player. The sound is also significantly better. You can
burn DVDs and I think you can use it to make DVDs with "code" but I don't use that part so
I'm not sure. In my opinion it's the best vidio player out there right now. Here is where
