I'm not sure, but with Microsoft behind it, it hardly will be a failure. BTW I've read somewhere that pirated verions of the beta version was already on sale in some countries

Windows lognhorn will have a totally new search function and will use a completely revised browser Also, Windows Explorer has also changed-more sleek and mangeable WINFX file system Also the ICF will upgraded to inbound and outbound protection

because Microsoft had to work on SP2, windows longhorn will be later in the shops than what was said at the first place.

hello! i read some months ago that illegal copies of the beta version have been stored on universities servers without permission.. i searched for it on the kazaa network and i found a lot of files. it is also available in some warez sites. it was supposed to be released on 2005 right? i really like windows and i can wait.... greetings from MÉXICO

But then, if you tried to install Longhorn which isn't supposed to be released yet, you may encounter a lot of problems becuse I don't think the OS is stable yet. Better wait for the full release!

Longhorn has had its release date set back to 2006 about septemberish.  www.winsupersite.com is a good resource to look up for info and pictures. The WINFS file system may also be getting the scrap as it was going to delay the release even more.

All I know about Windows Longhorn is that its tentative release is in late 2006 and that Internet Explorer 7 will most likely come out before the new version of Windows does.

Well XP Service Pack 2 had some Longhorn technology transferred to it such as the prevention of the buffer underrun attacks. As far as holes go dissipate, don't get too excited. Its still built on top of Windows NT which is quiet disappointing to me. Microsoft although its painful should really start making a new Windows core that can emulate Win9x/WinNT programs.

I'm really interested to know how much more stable and secure it will be compared to what we have now from Microsoft, and whether there will be hundreds of bug reports and fixes soon after its release.

Will Using Fdisk Corrupt Windows Partition?

lsass.exe and services.exe keep getting killed (8) Hello, I've run MS update several times and still, the processes lsass.exe and services.exe
keep getting killed and causing the server to reboot unplanned. I don't think it is the blaster
worm because no computer on my network (except for mine which is fully patched & protected) is
turned on when the system reboots. (Logs show that it has also rebooted several times overnight too)

Windows Not Recognizing Ipod
(19) OK, I'm running Windows XP and my iPod is not detected when I plug it in. The only things that
I could guess are wrong are that I recently had a trojan, known as BackDoor-AWI and that my router
