| | Take your better decision.
Windows is good to play and for the ones that pleases them to sacrifice the power by the facility. On the other hand linux is for all those that pleases them to learn and to obtain the greater power of its computer. And mac is an excellent one opcion for the ones that need proprietary software and power graphic. |

I use all three; The only thing I like to use Windows for is games. Other than that, not that much. Linux is great for almost everything. It's my favourite. My iMac is where I have all my music. I think iTunes is fantastic. iMovie and iDVD are really great. I have used them to make some award-winning school projects. I can't live without my mac. My favourite OS' are theses, in order from least liked to most liked: Windows Mac OS Jaguar Linux (I use RedHat 7.3, but I love SUSE)

I have a mac Powerbook G4 laptop now, and I love it. Almost every single computer i've had with windows on it has either died or been messed up for unknown reasons. I love my mac! It didn't take much getting used to the switch from windows. Plus, and a BIG plus, the huge computer viruses that are out there do not work on macs! And I don't get any spyware, that I'm aware of. AHhh yes.

Using VMware or winex you can play many games on Linux. Some guys made tests of quake III under wine and it run faster than under windows .

QUOTE(Tonice112322004 @ Oct 8 2004, 04:54 PM) So, I really think there isn't no big difference... CODE There are big big big differences. Mac is better then others computer for graphics and looking designed. It is good for making cool 3d animation and video editing. Linux is good for it’s own security and stability. (Which was come form Unix). It is free for everywhere to use. So we can make a good network without pay much money. Windows is popular for home using. Many users like it for creating simple text file or watching movie on it or surfing the net. This is very simple job to do with it. And it is very easy to learn it. But require more money to buy it.

Bull. Linux is just as easy as windows, windows is just as graphically powerful as mac, and as is linux. They're all just diffrent approaches to the same thing. What you state here is old. Mac used to be the best for graphic programs, but that was because of it's reputation, and because linux & windows hadn't many programs & support for that. They do now. That time is long gone, my friend.

Personally i like windows because it is easy to use, and considered standard. I tried installing linux one day on my old computer, but then that computer died :-( anyway i think that windows machines are more popular, i mean at my school there is only 1 mac computer, and its a teachers laptop (we always point and laugh at it). also i hate those mac computers with only 1 mouse button, i mean theres only 1 button!

Lol... of course Windows is more popular. And the main reason people use it is because they're used to it. Nothing else. Not because it's easier or more user friendly or faster or whatever.. =/

Sure, people prefer Macintosh or Linux. There are different people out there with different needs, and each has very attractive features to accomodate those. However, people who assume Windows users aren't using it out of choice but mere ignorance are morons. Stop thinking so childish and acknowledge the good features of "" the enemy"" (even though only a fanboy would consider a rival OS an enemy). Competition is good. xboxrulz I agree, I've always used Macs, we used to have an old LC 630 with OS7, (Which, incidentally also ran Windows 3.1). I currently Have 2 windows computers, one of which, I also have a Linux Hard Drive for. The only real reason I use Windows, like most other people, is because of the software available for it, I don't like Windows overall though, it's not very reliable, and crashes alot. If a Mac crashes/freezes, its usally a freak incident, and it wont crash for another year or so. If Windows crashes, it crashes over and over again for about a week usually. Linux/Mac are also much more customizable, and i like to customize my computer.

Especially now with the Intel-based machines: Mac. Why? I used Linux for a couple years until Mac OS 10.1 came out (and OS 10.2 was nearly out). Although I have to admit, that I like Windows 2000 Pro as well. It was a good stable OS. But Apple had all the features of Linux, as in the ablity to run most FOSS apps and function as a Unix development enviroment AND had commercial software like Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and MS Office. It was like having cake and eating too! Now with the intel machines, one can dual boot so if you really need windows, you can do so.

I've worked with windows from 3.1 to Vista (except for W2K en W2K3). I've tested a lot of linux distributions and last but not least, I've ran MacOS on a regular computer. The most important thing is that neither of the 3 is 100% stable. The only reason why I've experienced more windows-crashes is because I use it more often than Linux. Can't realy tell anything about MacOS because it ran on an unsupported system, but it crashed too . Speedwise, I'd say Windows is better (when tweaked a bit), Linux takes a long time to boot and KDE/Gnome isn't always as responsive as windows would be. Windows and MacOS are both more userfriendly than linux, linux is a real pain in the ass. Personaly, I'd prefer windows, but that's because I'm used to working with it. Real MacOS users would prefer MacOS over Windows. Looks are too personal to talk about, but if I says that I'm still using the W2K theme you'll probably know enough ... sleek is more than enough for me . So, my top 3 is: Windows MacOS Linux But that doesn't mean I'm not willing to learn working with linux, maybe one day I'll make the switch

How Linux Is Being Subverted
(0) Linux is in great danger at the moment. That danger started when Microsoft cut their deal with
Novell. Many open source advocates recognized this and there was a hue and cry over it. This furor
has died down to a large extent and apathy has set in. To combat this the Free Software Foundation
brought out their GPLv3 but this seems to be too little too late.

Symantec: Windows Is Most Secure Os

can't to meet to cover the security. For example : a few years ago a company employed number
of peoples to search in the papers and rubbishes of Microsoft and find Codes of Microsoft, and
found important information . Then we can see that the security of a network is depend of many
factors that we may don't care about those. Windows and Linux have weaknesses in security, but
because of many users of Windows, naturally the weaknesses of Windows is discoverable....
