| | Lately, my Window Explorer tends to freeze all the time. I end up having to end it, and never can organize my files like I want. I’ve sweeped for spyware, check virus and made sure my firewall is in place. What am I missing? Any suggestions? |

I am having the same problem: XP explorer freezes every now and then... I am strongly suspecing the indexing process. This freeze started after I installed windows search index application.
probably buggy system files. do a repair installation, that will probably fix it.
You might want to run a system file check first to see if it can repair any system files that are missing or corrupted.
Go to Start->Run and type in sfc /scannow and hit OK. Let it scan. If it finds any files missing/corrupted, it may ask for the Windows CD.

There is a way to launch each explorer process separately. This most likely will not fix the root cause of the problem but it might help in diagnostics.
