Whats The Server And Port?

Im tring to install SMF forums and it asks for server and port what do i enter for that?

If you have copied the files onto the server and are installing, then you need to enter "localhost" in the server field.

If you are trying to connect to server using ftp client, then you need to enter the domain/subdomain in the host field (ex: domain.com), and port number 21 (you can leave it blank).

Datebase Server Hostname - localhost
Database Server Port - 21
DB Name - conflect_thepinder
DB Username - conflect_thepinder
DB Password - *
Prefix for tables in database - phpbb

I get this error when i put in the info above.

Could not connect to the database, see error message below.
Access denied for user 'conflect_pinder'@'localhost' (using password: YES

Can someone please help me

have you created an sql user & database from cpanel? if you haven't, then you should create database and database user from cpanel (mysql database wizard).

Considering you already created the MySQL database, I can only think of the password entered incorrectly. Check if the caps lock was on.

OK, here is the error. You are running the phpBB installation script, "localhost" is correct for the hostname, but "21" is false for the Databas server port. Leave this value to the default (give nothing).

ok well once i got done with that and past taht info i got this error

Module "" not accessible.

You have to check what's on line 399 in index.php to know what's going wrong.

@thepinder: Hope you installed it by now. If not, then completely remove the files you have uploaded and re-upload afresh and make sure you have database created before installing. It should work.

When you get error always do this. Most of the time you will get the answer.
