I vote to 3d studio max why is the only one program of 3D that I drive well the rest of the I utilize them but I do not develop in them to part also why one went from the first it is solid robust and you allow making anything

I voted for 3ds max. It's the best I've used. But then again, it's the only one I've used...  But it's pretty good. It's easy to use, can do great stuff, and has lots of plugins.

I go with Maya 8 and higher. Even though 3Ds Max got a lot plugins and stuff Maya comes with similar tools totally embedded to the software itself. It has pretty much a better GUI than 3Ds Max. With tools like nCloth in Maya you can come up with some unique animations.

I have been interested in animated software forever. I went to schooling for Graphic Design, but I was never able to use animation programs.... only photoshop was used on the PC. I am not that old, but the idea of Graphic Design had only began to start using more updated programs like Photoshop at the time... that was like in 1996. Now everything is Multimedia, and a lot of it involves animation and 3d programs. I was SOOO close to being able to get into that course. I had always wanted to be an animator, and I still would love to learn a lot more than I already know. I was given 3D Max to use at an old place of work... I have only began to teach myself, and then had a little break from the program. Now that PCs have a lot more memory and disk space, I plan to install my 3d max and just go to town. I just hope I can get back to where I was when I first learned the program... and I plan on finding many plugins for it... Maybe when I have a better grasp, I will have a better post!

I am just now exploring animation for the first time. 3D Studio doesn't operate on Mac despite Mac being a better overall system than anything MS has come out with. I was thinking of trying Maya and teaching myself and/or ToonBoom for 2D. I'm also interested in Final Cut Pro for film. Things can get very expensive, so I'd appreciate any worthwhile suggestions to get started. Im in the medical field and was thinking of doing medical modeling; however, I do love the idea of creating cartoons also. The only reason why I am thinking of medical modeling is that it appears to be a niche market with greater earnings potential as it doesn't seem that many people are earning money in the field of animation. Replying to FeedbackerShake is very good but it is a 2d compositing software not 3d. Also, Pixar makes renderman which is a 3rd party renderer for 3d animation sofware but not animation sofware itself -bombbeach

What's The Best 3d Animation Software?
According to me for arch rendering , materials , plugin , User-friendly and lightnings 3d max is ahead of all. The selling point of maya is special effects, dynamics, Animation and maya live. Max comes with 32 and 64 bit but maya is set 64 bit. -avesh

Not only this movie but there are many other movies like "lighthouse" and one is on bird is released. I think it is featured on blenders showcase page. I can see the potential in this software but those who work alone needs more info that what more softwares need to be used with blender in order to design a movie or simple presentation.

There is a free opensource movie called Big Buck Bunny which can be downloaded from http://www.bigbuckbunny.org/This movie is my favorite one, very good animations and 3d effects. The movie is made using Blender alone. Download the movie and see Blender in action.

Yes, blender is good software and it is free available for windows, macintosh and linux. There are many other freewares available as well. Alice3D is one to look for. Maya is perfect software for 3D but it is paid and learning curve is steep.

Looping A Flash Animation Certain Times?
also sound syncing. (0) Ok, I am creating a short flash movie and I need some help. My first two frames is my loader, a
basic, "IfFrameLoaded; Goto" type function. The next 9 frames is a small animation that I want to
loop for exactly 20.02 seconds, and then I want to move from that animation and background music,
into another animation and background sound. I'm sort of at a loss as to how to do this. Is
there some way I can count the amount of time that a flash file has been loaded, and then have it
switch to another layer with the other animation and sound on it? A "Goto; Layer 2, Frame ....

Reversing Animation On A Gif
(3) I've got a gif that I want to reverse the animation on. Normally, I would do this by hand, but
this gif in particular has about 600 frames, so I'm not so eager. Is there any sort of program
that could do this for me? I use MGI videowave III and Ulead Gif Animator and neither have anything
to reverse the way the frames move, at least nothing that I am aware of. Any help would be
appreciated. Different programs I could use or a different method within the programs I already

Missing the Folder (3) I have installed the Character Studio Plugin for 3ds Max for quite a long time, but I have never got

Palm animation software stuff (2) To start off, I want to say that there are many animation programs for PDAs out there. I have
searched a lot, and I have found the best one out there. I know it costs money, but it is the
absolute best. It is Novii Animator . I use it because it is the ONLY animation program that runs
smoothly on my clie. It has variable animation speed, color fill, text, etc. But, you can only
