I guess so but its a real power hog and it needs a really good cooler. I wouldn't even try overclocking that thing. Other than that my laptop has an AMD Athlon XP-m 2200+ (1.8GHz Thunderbird core. 128KB L1 cache/256KB L2 cache) FSB? hmm I tend to forget about AMD's processors' FSB speed... isn't it something like 233MHz? 266MHz?

I'm using AMD Duron 1.1 Ghz. Been using it for about 2-3 years now? Works fine for me, as long as my computer runs smoothly, I don't need to buy a new one. Forgot about my L1/L2 Cache size and the FSB size...

It seems only me use Celeron, my processor is 1.7Ghz. The main reason I choose just because it's a Intel processor, maybe more stable than others. I choose Celeron because it is the very cheap one. However, its performance is not very good.

AMD Athlon 2600+ Barton here. I use the cooler that came with it and haven't had any problems with heat. My case is is big and I use two cooler on the back. My 2nd computers (which is actually still on pieces on my dining table...) processor is Athlon Thunderbird 1200 and it tends to get quite hot as those thunderbirds all did. Whenever I put that machine together I'll probably have to underclock or come up with better cooling for it. Especially as the plan is to use it as a machine that I have running 24/7.

Technically the Pentium III 1GHz is generally a lot cooler than Pentium 4s and athlons and they consume not a lot of power. Celerons... you really shouldn't use them at all... They are essentially pentium 4s with a quarter of the cache. Performance is dull on them and you're much better off getting an athlon at the same speed for a MUCH MUCH cheaper price

Intel's Teraflops Processor
An 80 core processor that consumes less energy than most appliances (8) Full information can be found here: http://www.intel.com/research/platform/ter...homepage+80core
But basically it is a new processor thing that intel is working on, where there are tons of cores
that are all linked together. And I beleive it says that they are smaller than a fingernail for a 1
teraflop. It is interestign when you look at the table for speeds on the website. How they show
that running at 3.16Ghz...the processor that they tested used only 62 watts of power and yet it had
a performance of over 1 Teraflop. Hopefully they'll be getting these things o....

AMD Processor Query
(7) Hi, The computer that i purchased almost a year ago has an AMD Sempron 2800+ processor. Can someone
tell me whether this processor is 64bit or not. I know that it is definitely not a dual core but im
not as sure about the 64bit. I have used CPU-Z to get some info about my system and its reports
that the processor instructions are x86-64! does that mean 64bit? The other info that CPU-Z gave to
me about my processor are below. Family: F Ext. Family: F Model: C Ext Model: 1C Stepping: 0

Ibm To Unveil 4-5 Ghz Power6 Processor

to run between 4-5Ghz without major losses in power efficiency. Even at such speeds the heat
dissipation will be far less thus bypassing the threat of silicon meltdown. Here's a short

Macbook Pro Released
powered with Intel Core Duo processor (12) So, it's released, and basic model costs 2,000$. You can read here what it has inside. I think

processor. I wonder, how hard would it be to replace apple's software with custom version of
linux or windows? /laugh.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='laugh.gif' />

Is The Processor Everything / Good For Gaming ?
Is it the best thing for gaming? (14) Hi, i've got a dell dimension 3000 computer. I wanted to upgrade the motherboard so it could fit
a PCI-e graphics card. Unfortunatly, i found that the dimension 3000 doesn't take well to be
fitted with another motherboard. Im running with a Geforce FX 5200 128MB graphics card, and wonder
if i shouldn't just upgrade the CPU from a celeron D 2.53 Ghz to a Pentium 4 3.2Ghz HT. Is the
Geforce FX not good enough for gaming, or will it be ok and i can then just upgrade my cpu?

Which Processor Is Better?

runs at 2.2 GHz with a 1GHz FSB and the other one runs at 2.4 GHz with a FSB of 800 Mhz. I want to

difference would be. Thanks! Also, I see that some people recomend buying a thermal....

Cooling the Processor
(17) The last thread i had posted was about the underclocking the processor, as said by Cloak it can be
done. So I assume it makes the computer run slow, as well as also prevents it from getting heated

using the HARDWARE cooling devices.. most of them are like, programs which claim can cool the
processor. What do you think, do they really work? Can they screw up something ? Some say that
those are not recommended? I have heard of Waterfall. It is also a small program which can co....
Under-Clocking the Processor

cool, consume less power as well as increase the life of the processor too. But I haven't heard
anywhere of UNDERclocking as such, just a question.....
