I'm learning c++ now

For game programming, C++, of course, but Java is my fav language. Not as amasing in performance as C(++), though.

The first game i made was in Delphi, it was a kinda complex version of Hangman, this did not invlove any animation though, next i had to use Visual Basic for an assignment at college i found it to be an OK language, however it cannot beat the power of Delphi wink.gif

Delphi all the way. VB and C++ come in a close second and third respectivly.

I use VB with DX8 now...
and soon when i have time to learn, i will use c++ or maybe java~~

C++ across the board. Java and C are also common. C# is up and coming but I doubt it will replace C++ ever. It's good for tools, not so much for the actual game.

I like using Flash just because of how easy it is to create dynamic content.

I also like how you can nest objects inside of movie clips allowing you to make an animation inside of a movie clip then animate the movieclip allowing you to have two animations being performed at the same time with minimal work.

Dude, you should definitely rekindle your programming ability and learn java or C++. I use java because I love it for its organization and multi-threading capability and the cross platform ability. If you could make a game in PASCAL, learning a 3rd generation programming language will be cake and you could probably become one of the best.

In the past I have always used C++ to make my games. Also, I use Directx for graphics and sound. I like C++ because because of the power and its ability to do pretty much anything you want. However, I'm thinking of using a different language (like Java maybe) for the next game I make. I want to get experience with different languages so that I'm not forced to always use C++.

C++ is obviously the most popular language to program most games in, tis what I use when I make little project games.

If you would like to create 3D MMORPGs then you should check out these two engines. I have had

Benifits: Easy to use editors Easy to learn scripting language Great Community (Forums and IRC)
Cons: Direct X7 only (RC2 will have DX9) Price: $65 and rising Multiverse : Benifits Nice
graphcis (DX9 and OpenGL) Axiom for renderig XML Support Easy to use tools Cons: Have to script

I know something good that I've been using for ages. It's called Game Editor and it's a
Game Making program that uses a point-and-click interface and optional C-style scripting to make
simple platformers, action games, etc. It is also very well supported and has many tutorials, so you
always have help with the program. Also, all games made can be exported into Windows, Linux and
PocketPC versions. The program is also avalable for all of these versions except the latter,
PocketPC. The only downfall is that the Windows versions are only 30-day trials, after wh....

What games have you made? (11)
Hey all! I was wondering what kinds of games you all have made or are working on right now.
I'm also interested in what languages/software you used to make them. The most recent game
I've made is Cannon Wars. It is a 3-D artillery game, similar to Scorched 3D . You control
the angle and power of your gun and try to blow the other players up. After a lot of work I was
able to add network support so you can play with people over a LAN. It also has a primitive Ai so
that you can play against computer players. I wrote it in C++ and used Directx for the graph....

calculator games. Actually, z80 assembly is almost identical to the language used to program the
gameboy. Anyways, Ticalc.org is a really cool site with thousands of games to download for the
