Well, my time has come... Tomorrow I'm leaving Astahost, I'm not going to cancel my hosting just yet, I still need to backup my site. Today I bought hosting, I just can't seem to find anything to write about here anymore. I'd just like to say thanks so much for the great hosting, I'm still going to recommend you for free hosting. I'd like to thank everyone for their help and their support and giving me something to do! Also the admins, you're so helpful, remember that problem I had last year? Not sure if it was my fault but OpaQue fixed it! And way back last June or something when BuffaloHELP accepted my application when I seriously thought it wouldn't be accepted. Vujsa for being nice and making my appreciate Joomla (lol). Never talked to m^e before though. So, goodbye, I'm going to miss the great community! The forum and the people, I've learned alot from here. It's actually really sad to leave. Good luck in the future everyone! After tomorrow I'll be leaving and cancelling my hosting (please don't do it yet for me, my internet is going too slow to download a backup), I'll probably come visit every so often. Don't miss me too much

It's a real shame to see you go (Us aussies are a dying bread here!). Good Luck with everything. And I know exactly what you mean about not being able to find things to write about here, my credits used to be really high all the time, now i'm struggling to keep them at 10.

Yes, it was nice to meet you, too, Sten. You bring a lot to the forums with a lot of knowledge. I also understand that it is hard to find a lot to type at a lot... I have only been here for a few months, and I also understand it is tough to keep up with a lot of forum postings. I do a lot with my own site, and it is tough to try to balance the two out... so I try to keep a few days available when I post... So I too, understand... Why Its So Hard To Get Hosting At Astahost
Feedback and some suggestions (24) I think the reason why its so hard to get hosting here at Astahost is because of its technical
nature. While many of us who haven't got hosting yet (me included) know a fair bit about
Computers and other technical aspects there isn't much need to share it here, since the
auidience is made up mainly of people with the same amount of knowledge or more. Most of the
tutorials to be written have been written I think. Many helpful tips that would benefit people, we

Astahost Can Have A Wiki?
As the first stickied thread of every forum (6) I was just wondering if this was feasible after what Mark420 or someone mentioned in one of the
threads around here. Each of the forum section would have a Wiki, which would have eventually
contain a good summing up of all that happens in the forums. Once members participate in a thread,
solve a problem, discuss, or come up with something, we could put that info in the Wiki of that
section almost summing up and polishing all the information the thread had gained. That way, some
one wanting to search the knowledge base would really find it easy to get what they need. ....
Ideas To Improve Astahost
My thoughts as an experienced webmaster (8) One thing I see wrong already is the title, "Free Web Hosting" on the main page. This just screams
unprofessional and tells people that Astahost shouldn't be taken seriously. I think you should
change the title to, "Astahost | Quality Web Hosting for Free" or something of that sort. This
greatly improves the standards and shows people how great the hosting here is, while the current,
"Free Web Hosting" sounds like typical web hosting you can find at any other crappy free web host.
Because who wants "Free Web Hosting" when they can have "Quality Web Hosting for Free?"....
My Thoughts On Astahost
various comments as an Astahost User (4) I have been on Astahost for quite a while and decided to make an honest review on my thoughts about
this host. Astahost is a really nice web host. I found that the product itself is comparable to
paid hosting such as http://www.rydia.net . But the neatest aspect of Astahost, in my opinion, is
the kindness and flexibility of the staff members. Honestly, if you go to support in ANY other free
web hoster, they just say "too f&$$ing bad, CASE CLOSED!" But the staff members here

Holy Crap! I Didn't Know This About Astahost!

hosting credit reach a negative number, your site will be taken down. Once it reaches -30, your

Free webhosting was never this good (2) Just one week ago, my account with Astahost was suspended out of the blue. I wasn't out of
hosting credits, so it's not possible that I'm suspended due to a lack of hosting credits. I
waited for days for my account to come back, I PMed the admins like Nilsc who replied that my
account was suspended due to "higher cpu usage". I thought, this was it, that's what you get for
free web-hosting. I thought my account is terminated. Then I emailed OpaQue, and he kindly took
time to restore my account despite him being busy with setting up a new server over at Co....
Astahost Is Excellant!
I'm sad to say I'm leaving though... (3) I've really enjoyed my stay here both at Trap17 and Astahost, and I love the hosting, the
accounts are great! I really got alot out of mine, and I will miss you all (well not really,
I'll be checking in every now and then), but I'm going to leave to go to Xisto Group's
paid hosting service, I'm looking at all of the plans, and developing some original scripts for
my site, then I expect to create my hosting account there late August- early September. But you will
still be able to find me frequently on IPB Gaming , the graphics section on Trap17, ....
Does Astahost Provide . . .
question I couldn't find on the faq (4) does astahost provide an online html/php/whatever editor. I just want to know if i can edit my
webpages online or if i have to upload it each time i decide to change it. i looked on the faq, and
searched through the forums, and i even checked the package details. i don't believe i saw it

The Name Game
What's the basis for the name Astahost? (19) There's usually a story behind every name. Sometimes the message or the story is obvious
othertimes it isn't. What is the story behind the naming of this domain Astahost? Mine?
Hashbang is a shortened version of #!/bin/bash (hashbangslashbinslashbash). I choose this some
time ago and have used it in other online forums. It reflects my passion for *nix systems and using
the command line. I don't always use the bash shell but I find it's the most user friendly.
And what is the story behind your own login name here? cheers hashbang ....
