what are u using to play sound . Alsa or OSS . If Alsa is OSS Emulation enabled ?

On my system, FC4 is the main OS. I just run Windows in virtual machine whenever I need to use some app that's for win only. I don't have any Windows partition here.

well, check that you have write access to /dev/mixer and /dev/dsp. Also, make sure your microphone is not on MUTE. xboxrulz
