| | Is using the File Manager in Cpanel better than using FTP software to upload and manage files? Is there any different? From my experience, using FTP is faster and easier. What's your take on this? |

your should also try firezilla
I think it is the same, of course you don't need to set your login and password manually, and you don't need any other program. It's maybe a little bit faster. i always use WS-FTP-Pro, I've tested many FTP programs and I stau with WS_FTP, because it's easy to use, and I like the little sounds that tell you that the uploading is done or ... .
of course ftp software (cuteftp pro) is useful
one click and waiting for the end, it is very expedient cpanel files manage system is also a good tools, if your 21 port was blocked, use it beyond all doubt
Yeah, I agree. But i suppose if you cant afford FTP software or don't want to download and install, the File Manager in cpanel is always a good substitute.
yes, you are right
cute ftp pro has a trail version without cost but if there are so many files and folders need upload, it is a terrible thing for cpanel file manager
Using a FTP program is way better than using the cumbersome CPanel file manager. Yes it is handy for uploading a file or two, or editing some files remotely when you are away from your main computer, but other than that I always use an FTP program. If you are worried about time to download/install, don't worry. The programs are small and it will not take much time at all to set up. And WS_FTP has a free version available, go to download.com. That is what I recommend.
well i have WS_FTP but is a trial version so can i use other ftp tool to upload files i have cuteftp on me but dont lknow how to upload files to website or my ftp server i can only like use it to make downloads
either FTP or file manager..both of them have their advantage..but I think file manager is more user friendly than ftp..in certain cases using ftp is much better than using file manager on cpanel
i sse filezilla (opensource ftp).
IMHO, file manager is for small uploads or edits. FTP is for uploading a lot of files at a time. Both have advantages and disadvantages.
I just use WS_FTP Pro (FTP) to upload my files because it's less of a hassle and faster. Using file managers to upload lots of files is a lot of clicking work. Probably why some webhosts restrict free users to file managers and only allow paid users to have upload their files by FTP.

yes ftp is faster than cpanel I always upload my files from ftp
I use Firezilla, an open source ftp client(as mentioned above), to upload files onto my server. It's just more functional than the cpanel file manager. With the cpanel file manager try installing a forum and see how hard that is. Is there anyway to change file permissions with cpanel? Cpanel might be useful for uploading a few files at a time.
