You should have mentioned what brand was it. Anyway, it's ASUS P4SD-VX. It's support all AGP based video card. So you need to let us know what range of video card you want, and budget. Are you just looking for replacement for your existing broken video card? Or you want to improve your gaming experience. For the latter case, it would recommend changing monther/cpu/ram all together. Merely upgrading your video card while still using APG and DDR ram is quite limiting. It's a waste if you intent to invest in an expensive APG card, cause it won't be usable if you upgrade your system next time.

xboxrulz, that looks like a good choice. dipesh, if you're getting this, make sure you'll be keeping your current pc for a least another year. Else it's really a waste.

We need to kno a bit more like the manufacturer of the motherboard, and your power supply. From what i can see you motherboard supports AGP. there are two types of graphic cards. AGP, and PCI-E. PCI-E is compatible with newer motherboards and by far way better than AGP. Infact, AGP is not really being produced anymore, its extinct. So my first suggestion for you is that you upgrade your motherboard, but i think if its that old to the point where you can't use a PCI-E video card, i would chuck it out and get another computer because the investment isn't worth it. With AGP, if you have roughly atleast a 450W power supply, you can support a NVIDIA 7600 GT. I don't think there are any 8800 series cards that support AGP. You will be two generations behind, but should be ok to run pretty much everything made before 2008, and anything made in 2009 at low settings (referring to games). Its roughly $50 U.S and newegg has good deals. Infact you might even be able to get a bundle deal from newegg for a new card, new power supply for under a 85$ U.S

It doesn't matter what type of RAM your system runs since the RAM that the graphics have are RAM that are bolted onto the card, only the graphics card can access the RAM integrated to that card. xboxrulz

Choosing A Graphics Card

External Hard Disk Problems
(11) I have an external 80GB laptop hard disk. When I connect it to my PC, everything goes fine. The
problem occurs when I tried to disconnect it form my PC. It shows an message like "Cannot remove
now, some programs are using the Hard Disk". Next time I connect it to my PC and try to open it. It
shows me "Disk is corrupted or unreadable". It says format the Disk. When I do that, it says "the
Disk connot be formatted". This hard disk is working on some PC's and in some others PC's it

Looking Into Getting A New Motherboard

Bios Update

geforce 6600. The main question is buy a 7900gs or an 8800 series card I'm looking at the

Problems With CD Drive
Pc reconizes DVDs but not Cds (1) Hi, i installed Alcohol 1.2 and deinstalled it after a while. Now my PC doesn“t reconize my CDs but
any DVD (Movies/Data) i put in works fine. I did clean the registry with TuneUp utilities but no

Dual Core G5's Works Wonders On 3D Graphics Render
(4) We just added six new Dual Core G5 Macs at our office. Each system is like having 4x2.3Ghz chips
and the systems scream. Three went to our 3D animation (lightwave 3d Users) and the other three to
video editing/rendering tasks. These things scream and the price tag wasn't too bad either
(3500 each). Light wave folks picked up 55% performance boost rendering their output and the FCP
editors love the systems. They don't have to send their smaller tasks to the Grid anymore, they

Need Help With Sound Card Installation Problems

Problems With Matrox Video Card
gaming (2) i have five video cards at home, all crap, (i just ordered a geforce 2200 with 256mb ram for 70
bucks) but i have more than one computer...so the geforce cant go in all of the computers. one video

Graphics Cards Under £100
(3) I am looking to replace my out of date 64mb graphics card (on my spare machine) with a new one of at
least 128mb and have seen a few cards that might be ok. Can anyone tell me or know of a good place
that compares the 3dClub radeon and the saphire radeon cards as these are 2 that i have seen. Both
are Radeon 9800SE although if I can find somewhere that does the 9800Pro for the same price I may
be tempted. Any help would be appreciated or if anyone knows of a good card at this sort of price

utilities for this card. I have been searching everywhere that I can think of, but I can't find

utility disk that opens up all the fancy features of this card. I know it's an old card based

512MB Graphics Cards
Buy one now or later? (16) Recently I have been seing some 512mb GPU's, and they look pretty nice... but on the downside
they carry a hefty price tag. On newegg.com I found this one (there are only three on the site right
now), for under 800 bucks. But for less than that I can two chaintech SE6600G's for 390 bucks,
and run them in SLI configuration, but the only problem with that is I would have to buy a
motherboard that is SLI compatible wich would cost 300 dollars, like the ASUS A8N-SLI DELUXE. So I

Windows XP: System Files & Hard Drive Mess-up
Installation problems from CD too (5) this isnt completly a hardware problem but it is mostly... windows xp was giving me an error message
saying that i had deleted/replaced system files that was requred for windows to run properly and it
needed me to insert my xp upgrade cd to fix problems (upgrade cd is what came with computer -xp pro)
after inserting cd and files started being copied it started popin error messages at me saying that
files can not be found on the cd. figured restarting computer and restarting the setup would fix
it...well, didnt, just created a bigger problem. it would boot into xp pro and....
