I recently bought a D-Link DSL-504T Modem/Router/Switch for my home network. I configured via the web-interface, and works in windows perfectly.

I have 2 workstations and a laptop wired, where one workstation and laptop are SuSE Linux/Windows XP bootable (the other just windows XP).

The problem is in SuSE. I simply cant get it to work. The connection is fine, as I can log onto the web interface for the router through linux. Even the DHCP allots a IPv4 address for both machines. Could it be that SuSE is not handling the IP address correctly?

I performed an ifconfig to get the following:

eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:A0:D1:B3:F3:4C
inet6 addr: fe80::2a0:d1ff:feb3:f34c/64 Scope:Link
UP BROADCAST NOTRAILERS RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
RX bytes:0 (0.0 cool.gif TX bytes: 0 (0.0 cool.gif
Interrupt:10 Base address:0xa000

And then a tcpdump showed the following:

tcpdump: WARNING: eth0: no IPv4 address assigned

I am new to this distro and OS, but im just clueless as to where I am going wrong! Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Pharalia
