Just wanna know other's views/styles/opinions on designing Web Apps... Here is mine: 1.)
Application Definition => Explains the mission/goals of the application 2.) Target Audience => Who
are you building your Application for? (e.g General Public, Students, Parents, Programmers, etc...)
3.) General Requirements Gathering => Write down all the requirements of the Application (Layout,
Graphics, Content, Features, etc...) 4.) Technical Requirements Gathering => All the classes,
methods/functions to be used, Plug-ins, etc... 5.) Flowchart / Diagram => Flowchart of...

Say you would like to make a website made in say tables with background pics to create the entire
layout of the site, how would you go about actually DESIGNING the graphics and making everything
blend in seamlessly. I have been having a lot of trouble actually coming up with smooth flowing
graphics that dont detract from the usability aspects yet still looks good! Im not sure if this
would be the right section or maybe it should be in the graphics but its got aspects of both....

Over the years (that make me sound old) I have complied some pretty good LEGAL template website.
The templates on there are pretty good and best of all, they're free! YAY. The templates
are way better then the free ones that you have googled in and turn up with the results. Here they

Just want to start something here: Do you prefer to use website templates or make one from scratch?
Personally i use templates, i don't have the time and skills to make a whole website design.
One of the templates i was using a week ago had used frontpage's layer feature and wasn't
displaying properly so i had to rebuild the whole template, using the original images. Really, the
part that i don't have time for is the images, i am o.k at photoshop but not too good to make
visually pleasing web images for my site. What are your opinions on this?...

could anyone recommend a place to download (preferably free (as im not sure i can make it work))
some (or a) good web template(s), something easy to use and not too complicated! thanks chris
p.s just needs a couple pages of text (preferably with some graphics which i can change), some
contact info and links to galleries which i have already made....

Okay, I've been looking all over the web, and even tried googling it (without much help) and the
majority of the templates I can find seem to be geared more towards blogger...I'm sure
there's a way to work around it, but I have a feeling it would be more trouble than it would be
worth. So far, the only website I've found with LJ templates is createblog.com. Does anyone
know of any other ones? Ones that I wouldn't necessarily have to pay for? (I have a paid
livejournal account, so I can pretty much use any kind of layout.)...

when co-use with PHP. I think i've been to most sites but can anyone throw out some where you

ok, i just bought a professtional pre-designed template for a web site i plann to put up. The
problem im having is how to edit the text and graphics. THey gave me a photopshop file and html
file. I edited the photosop file using photosop 7.0, saved the file, but the html version wont
change, can any body help me solve this problem? ** NEWBIE...

Do any of you guys have a particular process you go through when designing a site? I always find it
really hard to get started on a site, and often have to have 4 or 5 gos before I get it right. Is
there a "perfect formula" out there for getting your designs right every time?...

Hey i was offered a job by another Australian to do graphics designin, He said he would pay me 80%
of what it sells for. I was just wondering is that a reasonable deal to work with or should i just
forget it. I might give it a try and see how much business he gets and also how he works with the
customers and most importantly other employees....

Hello All, I am very new to this site, and even to web development. I was given a task to make a
site using html(and anything I am intrested in). This site would have a common template along all
the pages in it. Now what I want is, Is there any way to define a template using HTML. If yes how?
If no, what is the other easiest option for it. I dont like to code the sanme stuff in all the
pages. Is there any way of data reusability. I thought of some other way, like making a page with
the template(that continues through all the pages in site) and calling that page in ...
