Trendy Movies Of Trendy Kids

Lemme ask you guys... What's up with these trendy kids saying they like certain movies because everyone likes it??? Movies, such as Requiem For a Dream, Donnie Darko, Boondock Saints, Harold & Kumar, and Napoleon Dynamite??? Is that the new thing now? To pretend they like overrated movies to fit in??? This is not a rant, i just don't get these people. That's how i feel about it. Lemme hear you guys opinion, whether you agree or disagree.

This isn't limited to film. The same goes for just about anything else, like music, clothing styles, etc. Yeah it's annoying but that is just how our world operates I guess. Some of those movies were marketed towards specific groups of people, which might explain it has become a part of that groups trends.

I will admit that I do like Requiem for a Dream. The soundtrack is superb. Clint Mansell + Kronos Quartet =

i also agree with what you guys are saying but you have to admit if you had the option of seeing a movie for free, would you pick a movie with a leading actor who you liked or would you pick the movie of an unkown actor?

It's actually a normal stage of a kid's development. It's what we (when we're kids, I mean) do when we're trying to figure out where we fit in. Most people sort of "grow into" being unique, trend-setting people who will actually say, "Napoleon Dynamite seriously sucked."

But the sad part is that a lot of these kids won't ever really outgrow it. They'll just keep doing whatever everybody else is doing instead of actually finding out what they themselves really like and dislike.

Too bad. We'd have so many awesome things going on if more people did their own things.
