Hi guys, I just stumbled upon this cool tool called StumbleUpon - http://www.stumbleupon.com. You simply sign-up with them and download their toolbar. They got it for almost all the major browsers on Win/Lin/Mac platforms. This adds a new toolbar to your browser with a couple of icons like Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down, A page Review editor, Your own Reviews Bookmark, Chat etc...very small and compact download for Firefox - only 85K. When you browse to any site, you just click on the thumbs up/down icons to give your rating to a site. If you happen to be the first person to add this site to their database, a small input-box will pop-up asking you to write a short review. It's fun to play around with, plus you can get to know a whole bunch of people with similar browsing habits as yours Here's a screenshot of how your browser looks after you install the toolbar: Installation is very simple and as soon as you create an account at their site, the toolbar auto-detects the login/pass and you don't have top configure it in any way. Give it a try.. m^e

Yeah, so i decided I didn't really like it. The concept is cool, but i just didn't get hooked on the idea, so the toolbar became more of a burden than a cool idea. oh well. Maybe if they adjust a few things and all that i'll check it out again and give it another try. Ray J Gentry IV

Firefox Performance Stats
(3) Hi all, Does anyone know where I can get hold of performance stats on how long Firefox take to open
really large websites (like > 500k of xhtml). I have done some initial tests with a page of around
1MB and found that Firefox just stops for about 5mins while it gets over the shock. I could go
though and test a lot more combinations, but I hoping to find some performance tests that show the
point where Firefox starts to degrade. Cheers, Hoopa....

Aol Pulls Plug On Netscape Web Browser
Netscape first Victim of the Browser Wars (1) QUOTE Well we have our first official victim of the browser wars AOL-Time Warner have finally
giving up and will be not supporting the Netscape browser as of Feb 1 2008. Of course the two big
reasons for the loss of Netscape is internet explorer and of course firefox, the cousin of Netscape.
Of course people will still be able to use it, just it won't be supported after 13 years in the
business. Well we all know for those who been following the browser wars that one day one of the
big name browsers were going to call it quits. But the time frame though was a ....
Live Cd Firefox Browser
Is it possible to do this? (9) This has been posted at the MozillaZine Forums by me, but I think that people here will have
different responses as well and I want to see different opinions:
QUOTE("http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=593161") I want to burn a CD with Firefox on
it, but a special version of Firefox. 1. It will only display the HTML files on the CD, and it
shouldn't connect to the Internet. 2. Extensions shouldn't be able to be added, I want to

Firefox On Apple Computers
(3) The latest Firefox browser, Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.1.6)
Gecko/20070725 Firefox/2.0.0.6, has lots of problems. I find that it does not work well with .asp
pages, crashes often when browsing .jsp pages and when it crashes it deletes your page history.
These are just a few of my huge list of problems. I would use Safari, but it is not very secure.

Firefox Vs Ie7
(2) QUOTE BETA Disclaimer This is a comparison of two beta products; things are going to change
before either organization suggests the general public try them out. Hopefully some of the
problems/quirks will get worked out in the process. Round 1: Tabbed Browsing The one feature
that got me hooked on Mozilla-then-Phoenix-then-Firebird-then-Firefox (they had some naming issues)
was tabbed browsing. For the last few people who haven’t already found out for themselves,
tabs are a simple concept that help to keep life (or at least your web pages) organized. For th....

Problems With Mozilla Firefox?
flash plugins etc (6) Hi, I just recently downloaded and began using Mozilla's Firefox 1.6 as my web browser, but for
some reason, whenever I try to go to a site that uses a Flash plugin, Mozilla refuses to let me
download the plugin. I mean, it tries, but it never works. Does anyone else have the same problem
with Mozilla or have heard of this happening? its not that big of a deal, because I can still use
Internet Explorer, but Mozilla is just much safer in general, so I'd rather use that. Any
advice, answers or ideas would be very welcome. thanks in advance.....

Other Browsers Besides Firefox?
barebones (13) I love firefox also, but I'm looking for a barebones browser that just basically has an address
bar and favorites. I tend to lean towards simple programs, such as Media Player Classic (
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.p...ackage_id=84358 ) which is a tiny little program that
can play almost any media type (music mp3s, ogg, wmv, etc...video's like .mov, .avi, divX
encoded, etc....images like jpgs, gifs, etc...). MPC is a "barebones" program so to speak - there
is nothing fancy about it at all, but it is a simple program that is extremely versatile. A....

Why you should switch to Firefox now
The GDIplus vulnerability (27) This is about a new flaw in Internet Explorer and how it renders one of the most common image
formats in the web, the "JPEG". The code that enables a hacker to exploit this flaw is out to the
public and therefore in a matter of a couple of weeks, we'll be expecting a new virus that uses
this exploit. The GDIplus DLL (Graphic Device Interface plus) or gdiplus.dll is only enabled in
Windows 2000 & XP. So if you're running on an older version of Windows and if you've
upgraded to XP SP2, then you're not vulnerable to this exploit. Read more about it here ....
Mozilla with adblock
Sick of pesky ads? (9) Well, I don't mind google ads, they aren't intrusive, but every now and again,
popups/popunders and flashy siezure type ads really get on my nerves and I had been using adblock on
mozilla and thought it'd be worth sharing to other users, who too use mozilla. There's also
some more good development addons for mozilla, but for now I will tell you how to get adblock and
install it for Mozilla (only tested on Linux like operating system). Go to:
http://adblock.mozdev.org/ in Mozilla | Click on the link Install at the top | Click on Dev. Build
| Scroll dow....
