| | Hi all, I also access internet in my college. The college has a proxy server with proxy address as: 172.31.1.6 : 3128. This is the proxy we put in the web browser when accessing internet. Now, when i try to use download managers/accelerators. They simply don't work. I have tried using the proxies but to no use. I use Flashget. I have tried the proxy in Socks4, Socks5, HTTP Connect, FTP but to no use. I searched internet for port 3128. It says that it uses something called Siquid Proxy. Does anyone knows what is that? The software used for managing the bandwidth of the college is "Cyberoam". Kindly helo me to configure the download manager.

It's funny that it refuses to connect. Usually, when you set the download managers to work through a HTTP proxy, they should work irrespective of the protocol in use. What you're describing is Squid ( http://www.squid-cache.org ) - a standardized proxy server for Linux based systems - though they've introduced a compiled binary meant to run under Windows with the help of the Cygwin libraries ( http://www.cygwin.com ). As for Cyberoam - it's not simply a bandwidth shaper - but more of a unified threat management client (IDS/IPS) for corporate networks. It's written by EliteCore Tech ( http://www.elitecore.com/indexhtml.htm ). I dunno how its doing it - but most likely, Cyberoam is dropping any kind of data packets other than basic HTTP. That might explain why your download managers fail to work over the proxy. We use another product of EliteCore called 24-Online for logging onto our cable internet back home. Maybe going through all these sites might shed some light on your problem. In any case just wait up and see if anyone's able to provide you with a solution.

"Flood control" script? (4) Hello guys. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
Recently, my dad's website has been experiencing problems. You see, he has one of these
political websites so he gets a lot of hacking attempts from communist Internet "police". I'm
not sure of the CMS, but I know that it utilises Tiny MCE (which so far I think is something related
to WYSIWYG editing). He usually only 30 online visitors at any one time, but just recently, he
noticed there to be around 300 visitors. Definitely those "flooders". What the communist....

Netbux.org : Real Or Fake ? Problems & Flaws
(0) Hi, Yesterday someone had made a post about this referral + search site name netbux.org that pays
you $0.02 for every search you made through their page. Out of curiousity I dropped by and opened an
account there. First of all - it isn't even a search site - it simply redirects your search to
another popular engine, which you get to pick from a dropdown box along with your search string.
Ever since then, I've faced quite a few problems with them: 1. Not all searches get counted
properly - this might be a flaw of their script. They do say that repeated searches ....
Problems With Mozilla Firefox?
flash plugins etc (6) Hi, I just recently downloaded and began using Mozilla's Firefox 1.6 as my web browser, but for
some reason, whenever I try to go to a site that uses a Flash plugin, Mozilla refuses to let me
download the plugin. I mean, it tries, but it never works. Does anyone else have the same problem
with Mozilla or have heard of this happening? its not that big of a deal, because I can still use
Internet Explorer, but Mozilla is just much safer in general, so I'd rather use that. Any
advice, answers or ideas would be very welcome. thanks in advance.....
