QUOTE(mHelmy @ Nov 5 2007, 09:17 PM) Colors in computer are based on Red-Green-Blue. But deskjet color printers use Red-Yellow-Blue inks.
Why are they different ? it's actually RGB and CMYK(Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black). This site has a detail description http://www.harrywaldman.com/June%2014%2004%20Pbol.htmland http://www.sparklenet.com/1_Main_Street/Ar...CMYK_vs_RGB.htm

There are also several other color picking variations. One very useful one is HSV (Hue, Saturation, Value) where Hue picks the color, Saturation determines how deep the color is, and Value determines how bright the color is. This can be a little misleading though, because yellow is a naturally more bright color than, say, red. One of the reasons for using RGB in screens (and thus computers) is that the human eye only has red, green, and blue receptors. The other colors are mixes of those three, so it is natural to emit light from devices in those colors. Since paper absorbs light more than reflects (emits) it is pigment based, so the primary pigments, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow are used, where each pigment absorbs one of the primary light colors, Red, Green, Blue respectively. ~Viz

I had never really thought about that, which is odd since I'm usually the first to get curious about inconsistencies like that and look it up haha. Interesting to read about... it's funny that more people aren't thrown by that when going to buy ink and wondering why such a weird combo of colors was chosen (CYMK) haha

Actually, it has to do with transmissive and reflective sources. Your monitor is a transmissive light source - light is being transmitted out of your monitor. Paper is a reflective source, light reflects off the paper and inkpigments into your eyes. Rather simplified explanation, but they are two totally different light sources.

Proper Airflov Through A Computer Case
(5) Having correct airflow through your PC case is critical to your system running properly. Heat
buildup in a computer case can cause lockups, slowdowns and even shutdowns. You should carefully
consider the direction of the air when building a PC or when modifying an existing computer. Which
way should the case fans blow? The CPU fan attached to the heat sink should blow down onto the heat
sink and processor. Fresh air can be pulled in this way, but you will want additional fans installed
to help bring cooler air into the case. An 80mm case fan installed in the front of ....
Best Program To Tune Up An Old Computer?
(9) Alright, the computer I'm on now runs well, however, the laptop, which I received from my
Grandpa is a bit slow, in fact, it is very, very slow. I'm pretty sure at some point, though, it
was a bit faster. Could anyone recommend me a program that could boost the speed by optimizing the
computer, or by deleting some clutter, or repairing the registry. I remember I've tried before
with some optimization programs on this computer, but since I used free programs (I don't want
to pay for a program for the slow Laptop, either) I could only use half of the optimi....
Your first computer?
Old school PC systems, what was your first!? (50) I remember my first PC. We had a Tandy 1000 EX, and it ran off of 256k memory. We had an old green
grey black and white monitor that ran louder than any other appliance! Everything was MSDOS, and if
it weren't for preprogrammed games, we would run them from the DOS prompt. I guess it was
pretty reliable, but the newer systems at the time were all for play, and my parents thought it was
best to get some other usage out of it. We did a lot of Basic programming, but we used to play
King's Quest and RPG games like that back then. At school, we began to play wit....

System Stops Responding
Computer suddenly freezes while on the Internet (10) I am using a Pentium 4 computer (256 MB RAM) with windows 2000 service pack 4 installed in it. While
using Internet through a cable braodband modem, the computer sometimes freezes completely. It no
more responds to any keystroke or any left/ right mouse click. I then have to restart the computer

Google search box and pressed the enter key. Has anybody experienced this problem and know how to
resolve this? Has it got anything to do with the virtual memory of the computer? ....

Dell Computer "shuts Down" When Opening Email

Computer Suddenly Turning Off
Well it seems my computer doesn't like me. Sad huh? (25) My computer has been acting in a weird way for some time, and I don't remember doing anything
that could cause this hardware-wise. I'll try to describe it: After some time powered on, the
system suddenly *poof* shuts down in a harsh way. I press the Power button but it doesn't turn
on. Then, I remove the power cable from it's back, wait for some hour(s) and turn it on ok,
until it turns off again. I'd risk also to say that the 'uptime' I get after a shutdown
is somehow proportional to the time I left the power cable off it. Some would say it&....
