Moved:the How-to's and tutorial section is for people writing tutorials and how to's. please post here when you have a question to ask. in answer to your qustion, this software will test your ram http://www.memtest86.com/if your ram passes this test, then the problem is elsewhere, if not, then you have a hardware problem, most likely ram. possably cpu. How many ram sticks are in your machine ? if more than 1, try removing all but one, then test again. if that fails, try removing that ram and insterting one you removed.

External Hard Disk Problems
(11) I have an external 80GB laptop hard disk. When I connect it to my PC, everything goes fine. The
problem occurs when I tried to disconnect it form my PC. It shows an message like "Cannot remove
now, some programs are using the Hard Disk". Next time I connect it to my PC and try to open it. It
shows me "Disk is corrupted or unreadable". It says format the Disk. When I do that, it says "the
Disk connot be formatted". This hard disk is working on some PC's and in some others PC's it

Problems With CD Drive
Pc reconizes DVDs but not Cds (1) Hi, i installed Alcohol 1.2 and deinstalled it after a while. Now my PC doesn´t reconize my CDs but
any DVD (Movies/Data) i put in works fine. I did clean the registry with TuneUp utilities but no

(11) So, I shuted down my PC. Then in the morning I tried to turn it on but nothing happend. I cleared
case and tried to turn on againg. But nothing happend again! :-( I went to Service Center. They
change my cooler on CPU. I got home and turned on my PC. All was OK. At the next morning when I
turn it on on the screen was printed some about CPU and FSB. I shuted it down and wanted turn it on.
But nothing happend. I went to Service Center... They said that my MB crashed. I bought new MB,
but I want know why after cooler change it worked. ....
AMD: Temperature Problems

Need Help With Sound Card Installation Problems
(4) I installed a new sound card because the one on my motherboard stopped working properly. First time,
the drivers installed correctly and I was able to listen to all my music. Now, every time I turn off

Problems With Matrox Video Card
gaming (2) i have five video cards at home, all crap, (i just ordered a geforce 2200 with 256mb ram for 70
bucks) but i have more than one computer...so the geforce cant go in all of the computers. one video
card is an s3 savage ix two are ati something and one is some piece of crap that doesnt even say the
brand or anything...and the one that i am having problems with is the matrox (not sure on
model...doesnt say, havent checked with aiada32) but the matrox is the best out of all the cards i

Windows XP: System Files & Hard Drive Mess-up
Installation problems from CD too (5) this isnt completly a hardware problem but it is mostly... windows xp was giving me an error message
saying that i had deleted/replaced system files that was requred for windows to run properly and it
needed me to insert my xp upgrade cd to fix problems (upgrade cd is what came with computer -xp pro)
after inserting cd and files started being copied it started popin error messages at me saying that
files can not be found on the cd. figured restarting computer and restarting the setup would fix
it...well, didnt, just created a bigger problem. it would boot into xp pro and....

Whenever I try to burn a movie compilation to DVD with 'Nero Vision' my Nero blocks, and it
stop responding - only when it trys to display that window with movie animation, where ....
Sound Problems
(12) Since my last formatting of my Windows XP, the sound playback quality has decreased immensely, not
necessarily the quality of the one, but the smoothness of what is being played. There seems to be
lots of lag during playback, and sometimes it will go to halfspeed. I think it may be because of

Nero Problems
Fixing Nero Problems (29) Hey everyone Im having a bit of trouble using Nero for burning CD's. Everytime I start the
burning process, it will get say about 45% done and then it will stop dead. Usually you can hear the
actual drive itself whilst the CD is burning, then it will just stop and go quiet. Its really
annoying because I am wasting countless CD's on it. Does anyone have any suggestions or is it my
