| | For some reason, I can't login to my SmartFTP account. I get this error, "530 Authentication failed, sorry" whenever I try to. I've had no problem using ftp before. So its not a password or username problem. Are the astahost ftp accounts down or something? Is anyone else having these problems? |

Are you sure it's not an username or password problem? Because a 530 error means either your password's wrong, your username's wrong or the password and username doesn't match for the same account. You can try this page which has a basic explanation of some FTP errors.

I notice you are in the group banned, maybe that is why it is not working? your account has been suspended?

Anybody experiencing compatibility problems (2) Hi all you gimp users. I am wondering if you are experiencing problems with your images created in
GIMP as I am. We here is my story. I take pictures with a camera and upload them to my computer with
a the camera software. Nothing is changed yet. Then I go to that file location and open the image or
a copy of the image with GIMP. Then i edit it, add layers, and tweak various settings before saving
it to .XCF (native GIMP format). Then later I was to export it. I do so as JPEG or TIFF. The

Email Problems
Unable to Send or Receive (5) Ever since the server move (migration, relocation, whatever you want to call it) I've had a
problem with both sending and receiving emails. I use Microsoft Outlook Express as my email
application, and originally hadn't changed any of my email settings (figuring that there

Networking Problems
(4) hey everyone...i was wondering if someone could help me with a problem we were trying to hook up a
computer to my home network and realized that the network on the computer was a domain while the
rest of ours at home were on a workgroup. so, i had the computer join my home work group instead of
it's previous domain. the join was successful but once the computer restarted, we can now no
longer log onto that computer! is there anyway to bypass the network logon? my father has
extremely important work files on that computer, and we cannot log on! i tried canc....
Two Problems.
(5) Ok first problem, I can't connect to certain websites. Ones specifically is
http://www.montages4you.com . The error that Firefox returns is that I can't connect to the
server. I've checked my connection, its fine. I've reset my router, talked to the site
host to make sure its not down. Asked OTHER people to find out if it will load for them, which it

(9) I have a very strange situation with my ADSL home connection, I can send emails but can't
recieve any from my POP3/SMTP email accounts, using outlook express. I can browse to some domains
(10% maximum) only, i can connect to almost all the google and related domains like gmail, google,
adsense, blogger, etc. but i can't connect to msn or yahoo, and most important to ASTAHOST. I
can upload and download files using my ftp client. Ping and Tracert commands work almost 100%. I
have a Zyxel Prestige 630-11, it is an USB ADSL modem that works pefect for the last 3....

Php Problems
(1) Today I've been having alot of problems trying to get on anything PHP. When ever I try to load
a page that is PHP, Firefox wants to download them. I usually have to refresh the page a few times
or type in the address. It's not just PHP files on my computer, it's actual websites.
I'm trying to work on my website (which uses Joomla) and I can't do much because I need to
do things with modules and I can't get to them. Anyone know why it's doing it? It's

Focus() And Select() Problems With Firefox
(2) Hi guys, I am new to javascript and am currently learning it with the book Wrox Beginning
Javascript 3rd ed. I have just encountered a problem that I am not able to figure out. Could you

Mysql Build/install Problems
(4) Hi I recently downloaded the mysql source for Linux. I downloaded it from packages.ubuntu.com (my
version of linux is Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon). here are my problems Installing Mysql: This is the
command I use to configure: ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/mysql
--with-named-curses-libs=/usr/lib/ncurses.a (the --with-named-curses-libs=/usr/lib/ncurses.a is to

Live Hotmail Problems ...
(7) Recently Windows Live Hotmail started to have some problems. First problem is that when I want to
reply or forward a mail, it doesn't include the mail (the box in wich I have to compose my mail
is empty). Now the real problem is that sometimes it does include the old mail (the one on wich I
want to reply) when I press "send" and sometimes it doesn't. Am I the only one having these

Dep Problems Again
(0) It looks like Yahoo! has yet to fix the bug in Messenger that causes the installer to fail when
the machine is running DEP. This is an ongoing issue with Messenger 8 and is still an issue with

Internet Connection Sharing Problems
(2) Hello, I am having some trouble setting up Internet Connection Sharing. Here is my setup. My
internet is through a neighbor who is sharing there internet with me wirelessly, so I don't have
any type of broadband modem, just a wireless card on my desktop PC. I have a linksys WRT54G router
connected to the desktop PC and tried following the guidelines for home networking, and works fine,
but no internet connection now. When I unhook my router then my internet connection comes back.

External Hard Disk Problems
(11) I have an external 80GB laptop hard disk. When I connect it to my PC, everything goes fine. The
problem occurs when I tried to disconnect it form my PC. It shows an message like "Cannot remove
now, some programs are using the Hard Disk". Next time I connect it to my PC and try to open it. It
shows me "Disk is corrupted or unreadable". It says format the Disk. When I do that, it says "the
Disk connot be formatted". This hard disk is working on some PC's and in some others PC's it

Problems With Php Saving Data Into Mysql

Office 2007 Document Problems
(12) I switched over to the final Office 2007 format on one computer. The others are running Beta 2 with
the service pack. When i save files in the older doc, xls, ppt formats, i can open them fine on both
computers. when i save them in the new version (docx, xlsx, pptx and so forth) they will open fine
on the computer that created them, but not if i move them from the beta to the final computer, and
vice versa. It's irritating, because also before i installed the final on my computer, i had the
beta2 version, and now that i've upgraded, all documents created in that ....

It wont start (10) Hi I just re installed windows on my computer (I know i can hear people saying "Why Windows", but i
need it to run certain programs) and i have encountered a problem with my screensaver. I have it
set to load the "My Pictures" screensaver after 3 minutes. But after 3 minutes the screen saver wont

PHP Problems
(4) O.K. I feel totally computer illiterate right now. I just downloaded PHP 5 with the installer, and
I can't get the test page in the tutorial to come out. I was using WAMP but I couldn't
figure that out. Let me explain my problem. When using WAMP, it said to make a directory in the
www folder which I did. After doing that, I did a test page from a tutorial in notepad and saved it

Fixing Nero Problems (25) Hey everyone Im having a bit of trouble using Nero for burning CD's. Everytime I start the
burning process, it will get say about 45% done and then it will stop dead. Usually you can hear the
actual drive itself whilst the CD is burning, then it will just stop and go quiet. Its really
