| | I am having some odd problems with my hosted site. They started sometime yesterday. I have not made any changes for about two weeks.
In Firefox, the index page (index.php) for Joomla comes up blank. I can access my Control Panel and can check that the files are there and look correct. No favorites icon is displayed either and the page source is empty. In Safari, I get the favorites icon but then get a network error and a blank page ("Safari can’t open the page “http://mistymanor.astahost.com/”. The error was: “lost network connection” (NSURLErrorDomain:-1005) Please choose Report Bug to Apple from the Safari menu, note the error number, and describe what you did before you saw this message.")
Can someone verify that my site works/does not work from your location? It might be something upstream from me causing the problem, but, obviously, Astahost itself loads fine. |

15 minutes ago it wasn't working  What did you do to fix it? As far as I found out, those problems happen when installing some components/modules, and also have to do with the configuration.php file. The $mosConfig_live_site URL should start with http:// and $mosConfig_absolute_path should't end with a /

I have not touched anything (at all) on the site for over two weeks since I have been too busy, so it should not be configuration. I just looked through configuration.php as well and it looks fine. I have an offline message that should show up if the site was down.

At least if other people can see my site, it's not as bad. Something interesting: if I load http://mistymanor.astahost.com/ , the redirect to index.php does not happen. I think that rules out a PHP problem. Hopefully it will just go away.

Time Travel?

Site Down Again, Help Or Suggestions?

From what I am seeing, the Gamma server is up but for some reason the DNS is not resolving to the

Email Problems
Unable to Send or Receive (5) Ever since the server move (migration, relocation, whatever you want to call it) I've had a
problem with both sending and receiving emails. I use Microsoft Outlook Express as my email
application, and originally hadn't changed any of my email settings (figuring that there
wouldn't be any difference between the two). I'm unsure of exactly when the problem started,
as I get no errors or messages indicating that it was failing to receive messages (getting the
normal "connecting, authorizing, checking mail" series of stages in the process). It was only when I....
Can't Access Any Site Hosted On The Server
(4) Ever since yesterday, I wasn't able to access my site http://maxotek.net , so I tried
others' sites like http://www.handyphp.com , none of which opened. I've tried PINGing the
sites and have received no response as yet. I've heard that there were some changes to the IP
addresses for the shared IPs. Just a while ago, I heard from a friend of mine that he was able to
access the sites. Another one reported of a Gateway Timeout error. Do I need to make some changes
in the CPanel or will this be solved automatically?....
Group For Computinghost Hosted Members?
Is there one? (11) Hi, Well now that i switched to computing host, I would still like to be somewhat active on the
forums here (maybe accumulate some credits that i can donate to some people at somepoint or
whatever). But I was wondering, if I no longer am having an account is there any way I can be in

Site Not Working
Can access cpanel, but site will not load (5) Alright, well my website is http://www.sourcedevelop.com I can access cpanel by going to

Getting Strange Problems
(6) Hi, I was surfing around the astahost pages today when I came across a strange error. When i hit the
back button in the browser (Firefox) i get a page full of random numbers, letters and symbols. I
have attached a copy of it in a text document if anyone wants to try and make any sense of it (i
couldn't). I was browsing around the programming forums if it is something specific there!
I have never seen this before - but it doesn't look like a database error! could it be

Strange Error (maybe Directoryindex Glitch?)
(6) So if I browse to my site, www.ethergeek.com it takes me to a download window which proceeds to
download the PHP page from the server. If I type www.ethergeek.com/index.php the page loads as
expected. This happens in other folders too...it almost seems like if the server looks at
DirectoryIndex parameter it doesn't pass the page through the php preprocessor... Any ideas?....

Problems With cPanel
Showing some error message (9) Hi all, I was trying to upload some files to my account using cpanel! There was no problem in
the beginning! But suddently it shows one error message as: Sorry for the
inconvenience! The filesystem mounted at / on this server is running out of disk space.
cPanel operation has been temporarily suspended to prevent something bad from happening. Please ask
your system admin to remove any files not in use on that partition. (Edit: Authentication is
working fine! After authentication only, ith shows the error message like this! ) Please ....
Mysql Connect Error, Too Many Connections.
(1) Just to begin with I want to say that I am not here necessarily to complain about it lol. I'm
not sure but if my site is possibly helping to contribute to the problem, I'd like to know if
anyone knows any good articles or tutorials that might have information on what to look out for that
could contribute to these sort of problems. I know my site may not have anything to do with it (as
I don't think it is overly popular or anything or even close), but knowing what to look out for
when messing with PHP/mySQL would be great. I personally haven't found too....
Something Odd On My Site......
(9) I went to check out my site today and low and behold, some spyware try loading itself and some .wmv
file tryed to run from the main page.... I was like "wtf mate lol", anyway I went into my cpanel
file manager and checked out the index files source and someone has managed to add an iframe to the
end of the source going to some advertising rubbish or some such. Is there anyway people can do

Addon Domain Problems, Not Working With Www
(13) During the last month, I've added two addon domains to my account. This is the setup: 1.
mg-forum.net points to mgforum.cpserbia.net (cpserbia.net is my default domain) 2. the-brits.net
points to the-brits.cpserbia.net On my computer, I have no problem accessing both the www and
non-www versions of these two domains. However, when I was installing the first one, m^e pointed out

Mysql Error Never Seen On My Site Before (too Many Connections).

Can't access certain forum topics (1) Hi. I have been experiencing difficulty accessing certain forum topics. This started quite some time
back, but I always thought that the forum topics have been completely deleted, thus I'm not able

cant send mails (13) hi, ive just hosted and ive tried but i cant fix this, in my computer im running easy php 1.8, i
confirgured the settings of apache, i placed the smtp server and email adress and password of the
email accoutn provided from my isp, so, in my computer, i can send mails that use the mail function.

Wrong Password/username - Fatal Error In Horde
