Well for starters i assume u are using a linux distor with latest QT libraries..if not get one. There are many live CD versions with full devlopment tools from QT. Then there are toold from trolltech (company which made QT) , tools are
-QTAssistant
-QTDesigner
-QTLinguist

you may wana search for the tutorials of these tools. I know for sure there are some basic tutorials in the QTDocs (which should be included with ur QT library or can be found at the website of trolltech)

Then there KDevelop which is prime devlopment tool for KDE. KDE as you might know is a major Desktop Environemnet (all QT based )for Linux and free OSes ..(there are plans to make KDE avialble for Windows also). There are neat wizards for making simple QT applications and using QTDesigner etc from Kdeveloper.

Last but not least C++ is not the only language which can be used with QT. QT has bindings for Java and other languages.

Search for the lessons on trolltech's site and tell us how u find them.

adios

It's been a wile since I programmed QT... smile.gif

If I remember correctly there was a great online book which was called something like "The KDE QT Bible" or something like that (do a google search with that title).

About KDE Developer I'm really quite ceptic about it, it's quite messy in my opinion, but I'm the cmd promt + Vi editor kind of guy smile.gif

Returning to KDE if you can handle C++ with some ease you should not have any problem using the Qt libraries, it's quite strait foward stuff.

So my advise is to serch that book I mentioned... I would send it to you but I dont have it in this PC I'm on right now. If I dont forget I will post some toturials I found heapfull (don't remember the titles at this moment) in the following site:
ask4info.pt.vu

...ohh and if I do forget use the webmaster email in that site and remember me! biggrin.gif

Some things I've learned along the way. (9)
I've been freelancing my PHP / Web skills for about 8 months now. It seems like every job I
have taken is always much larger than I planned on. About 4 months ago, I answered an ad for Joomla
Tutoring! I get to the website, take a look around and realize that something is very wrong... The
individual that hired me to be a tutor had hired another developer to set up the new Joomla based
site and create a new template for it. Generally speaking, if you are really good at HTML and CSS,
you can create a Joomla template with very little PHP knowledge. At first I was....
  3. Programming C In Windows
    2 questions (8)
Ok I usually would use Linux to program because there is a compiler (gcc), but I need to use Windows
to program for now because of a few unexplained reasons. I need to find a compiler for Windows that
will compile the C language. I have tried Microsoft Visual C++ Express 2008 but I find it to be way
too bulky and hard to use. The command-line compiler is similar to gcc I guess, and it creates
executable files for Windows, but the compiler in the actual program compiles C++ but not C for some
reason. And it will only compile files in projects, not standalone files. In my....

Lets start this thread and find out more about our coding roadmap! The first code I ever wrote was
on a BBC Micro Computer that came with its on embedded ROM-OS and ROM-BASIC - this was when I was in
my 5th grade (1990-91). It was pretty powerful for those times, offering decent 16-color graphics
and a powerful sound engine behind it (using normal computer speakers) - that PCs never achieved.
In about an year or so, I shifted over to PCs coz the lack of applications for the BBC Micro was
getting to me (all appz for it had to be either written in Assembly or that ROM ....
