I've been searching for a fully integrated version of PHP-Nuke with PhpBB 3.*. There is a

Cpanel) on onther webhost. I installed it there because AstaHost has a pretty old version, (ok, the

I've gone to some IPB forums were it seems they allowed file attachment options, even music and

Alright, I'm trying to install phpBB on a PostgreSQL (which is faster than MySQL since
Astahost's MySQL is already taxed as it is, and I want to use PostgreSQL so in case MySQL
crashes again, my phpBB would still be up). However, the only problem is that it complains that it
requires a UTF8 database and not an US ASCII/SQL ASCII, so is there a way that I can change it to

I have been running a site for couple of months that is powered by Drupal. And I like the way
Drupal handles everything. It is kind of lean and mean, when compared to the other CMS that I
checked out at OpenSourceCMS.com. But it has one down side that I must accept. It does not have a

I used Invision Power Board for the first time today. Its pretty complex and has more options than a
sausage on sticks! Which do you guys prefer and why? I use PHPBB on one of my sites. its fast,

I have found (and used, to much delight) a tool to convert my phpBB database to an SMF database. The
results were amazing--I could literally give my users a new URL to use and the forum banter would
not skip a beat. From what little I've seen of SMF, I really like it. The feature set is much
more complete, and the default theme is XHTML and CSS valid to boot. And the board is fast-- very
fast. I see little reason to switch back to phpBB. However, my users are very familiar with phpBB.

Hello, i'm a newbie in using phpBB and I still lack knowledge in mySQL database. How do I
transfer the datas(users,configs, all of them) contained in my current forum to another one in
phpBB? I hope someone can help, a short but detailed tutorial would be good. Example is, if I want

Hello SMFers. SMF looks really tempting.. and as I'm a bit fed up with phpBB I'm thinking
about changing forum system. Vbulletin would be my first pick but there's no way I'm paying
that much for a forum software. So SMF would be the way to go... However, I just spent and almost
entire day getting the new version of phpBB working with all the mods and imported the old
posts/users (needed to be done through phpmyadmin manually...). And I'm not going to go through

I sure have learned my lesson of using phpBB on a site of mine that gets many hits. Apparently, the
attacker used a SQL injection (my password is 7 characters and is VERY hard to crack) to gain admin

The first beta of the new phpBB3 was released on the 17th of June, and it seems quite promising.
Personally, I've been waiting for this release for so long, and I'm so glad it's
finally here! I've had the pleasure of installing this software on my local machine (and let
me tell you, as far as phpBB2 was easy to install, phpBB3 is even easier). Lots of great new
