Hi all, Please check whether you can send mail using php!  I cant send mails after the cPanel upgradation process! I dont know whats happened with that!! Is it for my account only or all are having the same problem?? Please guys, check it now and confirm it! Im having phpbb forum my site! It was working fine without any problem! But after cPanel upgradation, php mail is not functioning well! Its not sending any activation mail to the registered users! Its not notifying users about the reply and nothing going from the phpbb forum! Please help me! I need to fix it as soon as possible!  Then I changed the configuration of Email Settings to: Use SMTP Server for email Activativating that smtp email option gives me the following error: Could not connect to smtp host : 110 : Connection timed out

Well, it could take a little time since the error isn't consistant. Some emails from my site works fine but others do not. So there must be omething incompatable in in the non-working email code with the setting in the new cPanel. As for the SMTP settings, I haven't tried them. vujsa

Wow thank god I read this. I was about to spend alot of time figuring out what is up with my website and why isn't the local mail function working. I hope this can be fixed soon, because users cannot register at my site without a verification email and I have been recieving a lot of complaints about this. Are the AstaHost administrators aware of the problem? I'm sure they are and are hard at work at fixing it. Just have to be patient I guess. I was not even aware that cpanel had been updated.

I've tested smtp on my account and it works fine, looks like only phpmail is affected. -HellFire

That smtp email was not working even before cPanel upgradation! But that was not a matter for me, beacuse the phpbb forum can send mails without that smtp option! Before cPanel upgradation also, I was getting the same error message as: QUOTE Could not connect to smtp host : 110 : Connection timed out

But smtp mail configuration for my phpbb forum was not working even before the cPanel Upgradation process! But the same code was working fine for my old server! I dont know why it was like that!

So no wonder I weren't unable to send mails. Another problem I encountered, if this may apply to other members is that When trying to save a file using PHP, it takes a while until it's overwritten. I was trying to save an XML file using PHP from Flash it worked but it took a while for it to be updated. Anyone encounter this problem?

I was facing same problem bot with phpBB and as well with Wordpress. Nothing will work for you untill you fix it in your localhost itself. But now I have solved it. There is nothing wrong with either phpBB or Wordpress. This error is due to MXentry setting in your c-panel. Hi, I have a problem with my site. I created a subdomain and I made a form which will send the message to my email address. I was wondering why it couldn't send the message to my email. Replying to NiruI was about to spend time on this issue. After cPanel upgradation, php mail is not functioning well! My code which was earlier able to send mail to registered users , after upgradation this code fails to send mail. Is the issue fixed now? If yes, do we need to do any change in the code to send mail?? If not, then is there any woraround for time being till the issue is fixed. Thanks Shaily -Shaily

Well I use PHP-Nuke on my site and about once a week I send an email to about 150 people or so ( thats a mass email in my opinion ) I just use the PHP-Nuke built in email thing. PHP-Nuke

Site Not Working

Not Working Again
(8) I went through hosting issues recently. And now I'm having them again. A few weeks ago my
hosting account stopped working (industry-online.com) even though my credits had never dipped below
10. It took several days, but finally the problem was corrected except for email. That took about

Cannot Send Email After Account Upgrade
Outgoing mail broken after upgrade to paid account (3) I just upgraded mistymanor.astahost.com to a paid account. Since the upgrade, outgoing mail is not
working. Specifically, for mistymanor.astahost.com, using mail.mistymanor.astahost.com with
eric@mistymanor.astahost.com as the username, 587 for the port number, and the appropriate password,
sending mail from Apple Mail on OS X 10.4.8 fails. This account worked prior to the changeover.
Incoming mail still works. I have tried using "mistymanor.astahost.com" (dropping the "mail.") as
the mail server. I have tried with/without SSL. I have tried sending the message with Squ....

Addon Domain Problems, Not Working With Www
(13) During the last month, I've added two addon domains to my account. This is the setup: 1.
mg-forum.net points to mgforum.cpserbia.net (cpserbia.net is my default domain) 2. the-brits.net

Space Usage..
Question about space usage after deleting some stuffs using cpanel (3) Can anyone tell me how space usage is computed in the cpanel.. When i check, the control panel yank
at me that i was using 150MB of space.. so i was full and i need some data more to upload.. what i
have done is modify the code and erase my entire ftp account for files.. but the control panel still
says i was on full usage.. no files in the trash and i also use the explorer for web space usage in

Unzip Files In Cpanel?
Can files be unzipped in cPanel? (6) Hi, I just got my new hosting account and was wondering if I can upload a zip file and get it
unzipped in the server? Normally I wouldn't mind unzipping and sending it using FTP, but
sometimes I'm somewhere else (like my workplace) and they don't allow FTP. Uploading the
