| | All right.
For most of my Photoshop work, I use Photoshop 6.0. Yes, I know it's old, but it gets the job done, not to mention I just don't have the money of Photoshop CS or Photoshop CS2 right now. But I'm getting off topic.
Anyways, a few months ago, when I went to crop a picture, it wouldn't crop all the way. It would crop to a certain point and then just stop and refused to go any further with the cropping box. It seems to only form squares and sometimes horizontal rectangles, but only to a certain extent. However, when I opened Adobe Photoshop Essentials 2.0 (which I use for my Photoshop 7.0 and above brushes), the cropping tool worked just fine. I've never had this problem with Photoshop 6.0 until now, and even though I can use Adobe Photoshop Essentials 2.0, I use Adobe Photoshop 6.0 the most often as it has more features than Adobe Photoshop Essentials 2.0.
Any ideas on what's causing this and how I can fix it? |

I'm guessing that when you selected the Crop tool, you had been using a proportional mode rather than the normal mode. I don't have Photoshop 6, so I can't tell you where exactly you can change this. But when you have Crop selected, you should see a toolbar where you can enter a value Height and Width, and also Resolution. If there are some values entered in Height and Width, Photoshop will only crop the image at proportions of the dimensions you have given. Delete those values and you should be able to crop normally without restraints.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be that as sometimes it works normally and sometimes it doesn't. However, I'll check again, and see if I can provide you guys some screenshots.

I know that hitting the CAPS LOCK in photoshop screws up my eyedropper and converts the cursor into "precision mode" and for the longest time I hadn't realized that. Maybe you have something like that selected when you go to use the crop tool. I know holding down SHIFT will make it form fit a cube when you make your crop box... Check your toolbars and see if options aren't selected that aren't screwing you up.

Cannot Install Adobe Photoshop Cs3
(24) Hi, I have been trying to install adobe photoshop cs3 for a little over a week now. The problem is
when I'm installing at the end it says it has successfully installed shared components, but has
failed to install photoshop cs3 and shared components. This is really annoying because nothing that
I have found on the internet helps. Other people have had the same problem, but thats because they
have installed beta versions, which I didn't install! I have tried the CS3 clean-up tool from
adobe - that doesn't help either! The only other adobe/macromedia products....
Anyone Tried Photoshop CS3?
(25) Has anyone here installed the beta of CS3? If so, how do you find it? Do you think it's worth
the upgrade? I don't know if it's only because it's a beta, but for one, it loads much
faster than CS2 for me. I like minor things about it, such as the redesigned tools bar, the dynamic
resizing of palette windows, quick select, and smart filters, but I'm not sure that's worth
my money to go and shell out for it. The rest of the new stuff I wouldn't use enough to offset
the cost. Here is a list of the new features: So what do you think? QUOTE A ....

A Free Graphic Design Program That Could Equal Photoshop?
(35) The past few years of my designing experience have been accomplished mainly by using a copy of my
friend's father's Adobe Photoshop CS 8.0 CD. But my computer had been bugging me lately and
i had no choice but to reformat it, at the same time wiping away any trace of the program.
Unfortunately for me, i hadn't made a copy of the CD myself and i feel so much regret and
remorse over that incident. Still, i have to look towards the future. I've went to the Adobe
website and in no way am i going to pay 600 bucks for one program that i use once every week. A....
Is There Software To Handle .PSD Images?
other than Photoshop ... (5) Hello everyone, Do you know any other piece of software that can handle the manipulation of .PSD
images other than Photoshop? I actually have Photoshop 8.0 CS, but I'd like to know if there
was a simpler application to use. I don't need any sophisticated tools, really. All I want is
for that application to allow font and color editing of .PSD files. Thanks in advance. Cheers.
