this a good place to start

http://www.google.no/search?q=photoshop+tu...:en-US:official

but remember when using photoshop
that the program is used by a whole buch of diffrent user categories
photoshop is a versatile and powerfull program
when looking for a tutorial
try searching for something related to what you want to do with photoshop
-->maby you will say:
I want to know photoshop in general
-->well then you should start at adobe.com
they made it
so they will inform you on how to use it
BUT
because of all the different users as mentioned above
they dont go in depth when regarding different technics

photoshop is filled with lot of different ways of doing the exact same thing
this is because of the different u.....as mentioned above smile.gif
so
you are welcome to use photoshop anyway you want

again-->remember to think about what you want to learn
; for what purpose are you using photoshop

hope this helps

few sites I know offers a downloadable "version' or their tutorials.

http://www.grafx-design.com/phototut.html
http://www.atncentral.com/tutorials.htm

most tutorial sites simply publish them online...still you could save these webpages by using your browser (save as, full or complete or save with images etc..). Saved tutorial (webpages) very handy offline resources.

if saving webpages is a hassle in your case...you could purchase downloadable CD's, ebooks etc...or books of course. (most of them are not free anyway.) Google is there to help you find them.

Thanks wedjarl, you've provided a brilliant example for my post - the freeware Local Website Archiver... @ http://www.astahost.com/asta-file-no-2691.html
That's exactly what I've been trying to put through. Even I've got thousands of these downloaded tutorials - but they used to be a mess of files and folders, till I found that brilliant tool to neatly organize all my tutorials into one big archive file. All you need to do is keep a backup of this archive and you have all your tutorials saved forever for future reference...
Give it a try..

  7. Building A Resume (photoshop Style)?
    (5)
Hello, I couldn't find too well an appropriate topic, and although my query exceeds "design",
the main purpose is to ask about that I suppose. Anyway, right now I have this boring old Microsoft
Office Word resume (using their craptastic resume wizard thingo). It is fine I suppose, but it is
so plain and boring and I actually find it difficult to personally read (I really don't know why
employer's would prefer it over something more done up as long as it is easy to read the
necessary information). It doesn't look like I can do too much with Microsoft O....

I would like to have a simple Arrow (that I draw with the custom shape tool) with some nice little

PNG or GIF, which presents a problem with transparency. I can easily set a singular transparent
colour for drawing irregular shapes in my game without a hitch. But, try having a transparent layer
(invisible), make a new layer, use the custom shape tool on it to draw anything that leaves
background space (some decent space), add some effects like Bevel and Outer Glow. Go to E....
