I hope this is a surprise new technology springing from peer 2 peer architecture. Well so many P2P applications on the block that there is so much to talk about them, some of them are extremely well written code, travesing firewall and NAT . Yes! Joost is another of such P2P technology, which aims at providing multimedia content. Its designed to travese NAT and use UDP, it aims to become very fast and very good quality. If this is a company, you can bet its share prices will rise, and look out for google or yahoo to grab it soon. This is the next Kaaza that the firewall engineers will dread. Since its so difficult to block the UDP NAT traversal mechanism they deploy. There is a beta evaluation version available.. and I would suggest you to go and have a look at it.. the site is www.joost.org. some news 1 and 2. I am too excited after I saw the performance. it has limitless possibilities in the future. just think if its available on the mobile, and you could podcast it into joost TV. [ ] I cant think what happens to all the TV soap opera's. I have a great internal feeling that this concept is going to rock the world.. remember it was me telling you

I'm trying to get one those myself. My guess is that these Joost invites will probably have the same result as gmail invites when gmail first started. Trying searching for unused Joost invites on google or something. I'm hoping that there's a site for Joost invites just like the site that had tons of gmail invites.

Well I just logged into Joost to see if I had another round of invites and apparently they have granted me unlimited or 999 invites. So, if any of you want one, then either post or send me a message with your email address and whatever you want me to put in the First and Last name fields (doesn't really matter).

I signed up as a beta tester when i first read this topic in January. And, I have only just been accepted into their Beta program. Its a pretty good program, small download and works well. There is only a few channels, but that might change after the full version is released! So, that means I also have invites, if you're up for one, send me a PM. -jimmy

chris(dot)stones(at)gmail(dot)com Just sent one. At this time, I think it is only available for Windows and OS X. If you are running OS X, you have to be running it on one of the new Intel-based systems.

Houston Texas Becomes Giant Wireless Network
- Houston's approach to wireless internet (4)
I was reading the news last night when I saw an article about the worlds largest wireless network.
Houston, Texas is planning to create a $50 million wireless network covering about 600 square miles.
The fees to use it will be as low as $10 and free in some parks and libraries. They are also
starting an organization to help people buy laptops they otherwise could not afford. I found this
very interesting and very neat how we are moving into the future of connecting everyone into the
internet. Los Angeles California is doing the same thing, but they are only covering...
