How to create a new message (email) shortcut on your desktop
1- Right click on an open area of the desktop, and select new > shortcut
2- In the Location field type” mailto:” (without quotes) and then click next
3- In the Name field type a name for shortcut, for example “New Email” and click Finish
4- When you click on this shortcut, your default e-mail program should start with a new e-mail form
How to block viruses by Outlook98 and Outlook2000 and OutlookXP
Microsoft has a virus blocker (Outlook E-mail Attachment Security Update) that can block viruses you might get through e-mail attachments.
This update strips out any attachments where, if you click on them, they will automatically run on their own.
Examples of restricted extensions are:
.exe, .com, .bat, .vbs, .scr
