New Official Xp Theme

harriko
anyone come accross the new official windows xp theme?! i came accross them but didnt download it. it does not need any program to install it, as it is a official theme.

the colour is blue darker than the corona xp theme which we currently have and looks more professional. buttons are more slick than the big baby-ish ones.

if anyone has it? is there any link to it?

thanks! laugh.gif

I'm not sure if there are any new themes there.

Hmm....where did you find this new theme? Anyway, if it's nice, I might consider replacing the Silver theme with it... cool.gif

I found a reference, rather an article on this theme at: http://www.techspot.com/story13881.html

But it says that the theme and screenshots have been removed at request of microsoft. sad.gif they are at it AGAIN...bossing around everywhere.

i came across it some time ago but it was leaked out onto the internet. it looked pretty nice. it can be easily replaced by my tastes. getting bored of the old luna theme.

it looks from a search of the MS downloads website that there is a new 'energy blue' theme however it seems to only be avalible on the tablet edition, which is a shame cause i like blue theme's biggrin.gif

I use windowsblinds and the themes at wincustomize.com. These official themes are nices but quite boring after a while...

There's a link on where to download the new theme and how to install it on a standard home/pro edition of windows (google is amazing). It usually requires media center or tablet edition but this guy figured it out. I hope this isn't breaking the rules of the forum since this is kind of a workaround but whatever. Today at work I saw the new theme on a new media center pc that came in, and I like it. Although I use linux primarily, when I'm windows I will probably be switching to the new 'energy blue' theme. I hope this is the same theme I saw today, I believe it is but I'm not 100% sure.

Anything is an improvement from XP's original style. It looked like some Disney OS or something. I personally prefer Aqua interface of Mac OS X biggrin.gif

But anything to make XP look better is a good thing!

it looks pretty from the screenshot in one of the earlier posts though i won't be downloading it as my windows xp is set up to "classic" because i like navigating around a plain and simple style.

Have you ever really tried using the XP theme? It really isn't that much different to the classic style... but hey it's your PC and you're the one using it, so if you prefer the old style then by all means use it. But if you want your desktop to look nice, it ain't a big hassle to get used to the new style. And even if you aren't going to use the new theme now, it may be worth downloading it anyway, just in case you decide later on to use the XP style and you'll have that nicer looking theme there waiting.
